On Breitbart, some commenters were saying he could stand to lose 90% of his supporters. I think that's a bit steep, but it will be high.

Does anyone else feel that Trump was looking for an excuse to flex his military muscle? I abhor Bashad, but there is still debate as to what actually happened and there is every chance that this could be another 'WMD' situation. I have no answers on how we solve this. It just doesn't sit well.

According to the news the there is a question of whether Assad released the gas or bombed the rebels armoury and released toxic gas that they were stockpiling. I'm not defending Assad- I just don't think we can save Syrians by bombing Syrians. I question Trump's motives - why now? No doubt Assad needs to be removed, but a 'one off' air strike- which they have said this is - does nothing. I don't get it.

Agreed Whatser. I find his public motives a bit odd and conflicting with all his previous rhetoric.

@Livelovebehappy As others have said, Obama did try to take action - he went to Congress to ask for their approval to take military action (the correct procedure which Trump has ignored) and they voted no, as did our own Parliament.

Plus Trump campaigned on a platform that Hillary was a war-mongeror and would drag the US into external conflicts, whilst he would be more insular and America would no longer act as "the worlds policeman".
