Whats the best April Fool you've played on your DH or DC????

Longing to know ... love some inspiration for tomorrow....

Best one my DD played on me was laconically saying when she was about 8 that she'd won a trip for two to the Bahamas in a story writing competition but chucked it in the bin as she knew we already had plans for the Easter holidays (Yorkshire!).... Twas at picking up time, just thrown in midst all the hurly burly and I fell for it for about 30 seconds.....

I don't do them. My dc's middle school once told them there was a rare bird nesting outside the corridor windows. They made them crawl along the corridor out of sight all morning so as not to disturb it

Never done one to my dc or dh but remember at high school our English teacher did a letter saying school classrooms needed painting and students had to come in to help. He did it on letter headed paper so we thought it was real took us a full lesson of discussion to relize that at the bottom it said from head of practical jokers then his name.

I told DH that I thought he had better check the bathroom as I thought that there maybe a leak, he ran up to check and found a printed out picture of a leek. Only time he has ever fallen for an Aprils fool.

I used to work in a nursery. A few years ago April 1 fell at the end of, what was for us, a really quiet week, with only two members of staff in and very few children. By the Friday we were both running out of steam, so I decided to trick my colleague.

I took the only child we had in for a nappy change, then passed her to my friend to put her down for a nap. When my friend came out of the bedroom she found me apparently eating the contents of the nappy! It took a wee while for her brain to kick in and realise all was not as it seemed!

(I'd put some Nutella into a clean nappy and was eating that. And in case anyone is worried about my professionalism, I told the girl's mother beforehand (needed to use one of her nappies) and she thought it was hilarious! I only did it because there were no other children in, and th child in question was in another room at the time. If the circumstances hadn't been so perfect I wouldn't have done it. But it was very funny!)

I don't do them, don't like them.
It's my birthday, so it all gets a bit draining tbh. People always assume that's the joke, even though it is actually my birthday.

I baked a box of mini cream puffs for my ex to take to work. 80% of them had the usual vanilla-custard fillings, and the remaining were mayo-filled. She hates mayo!

When ds1 was about 2, we were at my mums on April fools day. He did a poo (we'd been waiting for this as he usually did one mid morning) so I took him into the other room to change him. My mum had had a good whiff so knew he was dirty.

I changed his bum then took out another nappy that I'd already pre-filled with Nutella, smeared some all round his mouth and on his hand then gave it to him and whispered to run and see Nanna.

I've never laughed so much at the noise, she jumped up shrieking and went green as a cabbage

Every year I rush into DC's room and shout "quick! We're late! School started an hour ago!" It's simple yet effective and for some reason they dall for it year after year regardless of which day of the week it is!

I told DD that we had a letter from school and they would all have to go on Saturday from now on...she cried...she was 7...I died laughing and am clearly evil

Ohhh my brother and i when we were younger, I was obsessed with video games and I didn't care for them at all.

I was bored and feeling mischievous.
I had a little squirty gun and I honestly don't know what came over me because I'm such a shy nervous person who wouldn't hurt a fly but I had an idea.
I pretended to sneeze, did a pretty convincing "ah-cho" behind him
And squirted the squirty gun on his neck.

OMG he went mental xD I hid the gun and I yelled and screamed at me until I showed him it xD my best one to date.

The best one ever played on me was about ten years ago. We commuters were standing on a wind swept rainy platform waiting for the next tram into the city. Said tram arrives, we all pile on. We moved ten yards. City tram turns right, others turn left. Driver announces that due to tram failure, tram will turn left and leave us all there to pick up next tram to city. We all know that this stop has no shelter, so we will get wet and wind blown. Massive sigh amongst commuters.

Driver then announces that if we wish to complain, customer services manager is Mr king, Mr Joe King. Tram turns right. Best laugh I'd had that year

DS texted me to say he had been excluded. I rang the school and the Secretary said 'You do know what date it is, Mrs Cucumber.' DS has Asperger's. Didn't know whether to be relieved that this time at least it was a false alarm, furious, or admiring that he'd thought of it, or embarrassed that I fell for it. My reply was a one word text 'grounded'.

I used to be an regional manager for a bakery in the days when I rang the shops each day with 'messages'. One year I rang round and said there was a new European rule stating there had to be 13 currants in every hot cross bun and they needed to count 3 and rang me back with the answer. I had some funny messages - about half the 20 managers realised it was a joke!

Never done April fools with DH or DD, but once when I lived with a very messy housemate, I waited for him to go to bed and then sewed up the tops of all his socks.

Was quite proud of that one. His confusion when he couldn't get his socks on was most entertaining. It didn't cure him of leaving his laundry drying on the radiators for weeks at a time, though...

Ok.

So we had to move the dishwasher today to repair the kitchen floor. Told my DH the dishwasher had a leak on the inside.

"How can it, it's not even plumbed in?!"

"It has, trust me"

He opened the door, all confused. I reckon it took 5-7 seconds before he responded....

"You bloody spanner!!!"
