AIBU to expect school to feedback on result of ofsted inspection by now

School had an ofsted inspection 3 weeks ago. AIBU to have expected feedback from school on the outcome by now? I had a vague thought that it is usually announced after 2 weeks unless there was further negotiation. School had indicated that they were pleased with lots of the inspectors comments which presumably would mean they were not going to be awarded requires improvement.

I think they can't report until Ofsted tell them they can.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 28/03/2017 16:35

They might have challenged a judgement, which would delay the process.

Until the report is published the school can't give any details. There could be 1001 reasons why it hasn't been published from a typo to a an issue that the school are challenging

Tatiebee · 28/03/2017 16:39

It usually takes at least a couple of weeks for Ofsted to publish their report and the school won't be able to tell anyone their grading until then.

Trifleorbust · 28/03/2017 16:40

They cannot disclose until the report is published and they have no say in when that will be.

Sassparilla · 28/03/2017 16:42

Until they get the final report from Ofsted they cannot do anything. My school had Ofsted about 3 weeks ago and for various reasons we probably wont be able to announce until after Easter.

I am sure the school isn't holding back the announcement just to piss off the parents!!!

ofsted12345 · 28/03/2017 16:42

Is there no set time scale?

We weren't allowed to tell parents until the official report came in. Including the Christmas holidays it was 6 weeks, so these things can take time.

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2017 16:44

Why don't you search for the report on the Ofsted site?

ofsted12345 · 28/03/2017 16:52

Jaimx - I searched the ofsted site before posting thx! I am just trying to establish if the delay is ominous or not.

If it's not on Ofsted then the school might not have had it yet, or there could be minor inaccuracies. We've had delays on ours often over the past few years.

Babbaganush · 28/03/2017 17:24

In Wales reports are published 45 working days from the first day of inspection!

Chottie · 28/03/2017 17:26

It's at least 6 weeks from inspection to being published. A draft report is sent to the school for comments and checks for inaccuracies, this is sent back to Ofsted for final checks before publishing.

Trifleorbust · 28/03/2017 17:33

Yes, I would imagine the delay means the school is appealing.

Trifleorbust · 28/03/2017 17:33

Oh sorry. It's only been a couple of weeks? No. Normal.

BoneyBackJefferson · 28/03/2017 17:36

we were visited by ofsted 3 - 4 weeks ago and still no official report from them. Entirely normal.
