So what's the tally? Its mumsnet pleased or pissed?

Elendon · 29/03/2017 10:08

Shove

Almost half of those who voted in the referendum, voted to remain. That's significant. And not just a reflection of the views on MN.

To say the country should be united as GB head towards Brexit is dismissive and ingenuous.

misspriggy · 29/03/2017 10:09

not many people from Spain think that Sittingbourne is a lovely sunny place to spend their retirement years. Hilarious satire..

I'ts likely they'll warm to it if they can find a job, place of their own and maybe start a business there.

BillSykesDog · 29/03/2017 10:09

Education level and remain doesn't necessarily follow that 'if you are intelligent you will vote for remain'. For one thing it's a tendency, not all well educated people voted remain. For another thing one is not necessarily the cause of the other. There are other factors in play like better educated people tending to be higher earners so more likely to feel the benefits of the EU from things like cheaper labour (other people getting paid less so they can keep more) and less likely to be affected by factors like shortages of housing and suppression of wages. There is also a greater tendency for the better educated to work in jobs with a high dependency on EU finding like academia.

To assume their is a simple correlation between intelligence patterns and people vote one way just because they are stupid is, er, stupid.

natsku

live reckons 75% sad and i dont think she is far out at all

I reckon more sad on this thread

But loads refusing to post cos they are all fed up with the whole thing

derxa · 29/03/2017 10:11

OK shove. I didn't mean to jump down your throat. I'm a Remainer but I don't like 'the other side are thick' business.

Elendon · 29/03/2017 10:13

BillSykesDog

I'll just leave that standing.

intheknickersoftime · 29/03/2017 10:15

Billsyskes, you,re contradicting yourself. Better educated people are more likely to work in jobs which rely on EU funding. Therefore are likely to have voted remain? There are patterns in voting behaviour and it's not stupid.

However, it's interesting Stoke rejected the leader of UKIP to represent them in Parliament.

PetallyTyrants · 29/03/2017 10:16

OP is pissed off people aren't sticking to the one (or two) word rule!

Natsku · 29/03/2017 10:22

Cheers Rufus Sorry OP for using more than one word in this post and my previous one. Won't happen again boss.

intheknickersoftime · 29/03/2017 10:36

Honestly the level of vitriol aimed at people because of the way they voted just makes me sad

If you are educated to post graduate level, you could perhaps give something more constructive than this?

Impress me with your wisdom of how this is going to work

Translated as

I want to comment on x because it's something that concerns me

Oh well, if that's all you've got to say about how Brexit will work, that absolutely proves it won't beyond all possible doubt. You are obviously either not as clever as you think you are and there are no rational arguments for leave

Strange logic.

WoodPigeonInFlight · 29/03/2017 10:49

Oops, sorry

But also sad that it seems remainers are willing on Britain burning because they're not willing to get behind an inevitability.
