I think only I said "distraught". So I am possibly a drama llama!

Why distraught?

  • I am scared of the unknown.
  • I am worried we will not get a good deal
  • I am worried that the negotiation process will overshadow everything in politics and nothing else will get done
  • I am scared that for any potential gains, we will all lose more.
  • I am worried that many (not all) Leave voters will not get what they want or are expecting and will be even angrier and feel even more disenfranchised than they are now.
  • I am angry at people on all sides who did not fight an honest fight
  • I am angry that the referendum was worded in such a way that it did not have to be won in all regions or by a greater majority
  • I fear the UK will split
  • I worry for worker's protections, medicine regulations, environmental protection that the EU have provided. The UK could replicate all these, but I do not trust they will : "they get in the way of business"
  • I fear City jobs will be lost and not replaced
  • I fear EU subsidies in the poorer regions and in research will not be replaced
  • I find the "remoaners" labelling abhorrent and divisive and am saddened that people on both sides can't see that voters try to make the best choice even if we don't agree. I can't see how we can work together as a nation when 48% of us are told our opinions are unpatriotic / moaning, etc. Likewise, leave voters all being labelled racist or ignorant is unhelpful to unity.
  • I am very cross indeed with the establishment (Labour and Tory both) for forgetting and leaving behind so many people and regions so that they felt a Leave vote was their best choice
  • I am upset my brother is leaving the country as a result (job moving base)
  • I am upset my husband will have to leave the country or lose his job
  • I am upset I will probably lose my job
  • I am concerned the Erasmus programme my son always dreamed of won't exist - how many others will lose that chance?
  • I worry that the decades of peace we have enjoyed in Europe may be starting to come to an end
  • I worry that sometimes the UK was a useful "handbrake" on some of the EU choices and that by losing our seat at the table we have given away all our control

There are probably more. I am sure many / most of you can pick at my reasons. I am not really interested in arguing point by point. They are my reasons. You have yours. We can all disagree. But we are all together on the Good Ship United Kingdom at least for now, and I hope we can work together to make a go of whatever is coming next.

Maybe that makes me a drama llama... I don't know.

Resigned.

I have read so much about ir, I am now bored and just wish it was over with. I have moved way beyond passed off.

2rebecca · 28/03/2017 22:05

FFS I voted remain read my fecking post. I don't need convinced that we should have stayed in the EU, my son is currently doing an Erasmus year and I have many friends who are worried they may be kicked out. I just didn't like the way people seemed to be ganging up on anyone who posted more than 1 word about why they were happy to leave the EU.
The EU isn't all fluffy bunnies after all, it was EU legislation that has delayed Scotland having minimum alcohol unit pricing. It can be very pro big business and all the toing and froing between Brussels and Strasbourg is very wasteful.

MoonriseKingdom · 28/03/2017 22:05

Really fucking annoyed

Numbercrunchingninja · 28/03/2017 22:07

Delighted

Nachoo · 28/03/2017 22:07

Worried

AllotmentyPlenty · 28/03/2017 22:12

2rebecca Well, I did read your post and thought I was just answering your question... so I am really not sure why I am being sworn at. I don't think my reply was at all rude. It is late at night, so apologies if it was.

As for the "ganging up", I don't like ganging up either. That said, when people are saying they and their families are losing or have lost their jobs, for people to then say "pleased" or "delighted" would - in any other context - seem a rude response. In fairness to those posters, one word answers were asked for, so it is an awkward set up. But it does jar a little regardless which might explain some of the demands to explain.

Four words...

OVER. THE. FUCKING. MOON!

What that silly moo Sturgeon doesn't seem to comprehend is if Scotland had become independent in 2014 (like she wanted,) they would have been out of the EU then! They would have come out by default. No joined up thinking from her, as she is too busy throwing her toys out of the pram, stamping her feet, and spitting out her wee dummy! Grin

RedRoseMummy · 28/03/2017 22:41

And even more so now as my DH is about to lose his job because of it (company downsizing UK operation and expanding in France)

All the racists I know are delighted, those who voted Leave have made them very happy.
