Best line Lewji Grin

On the gun thing, I am baffled by it all and there have been threads about it before now with a poster (can't remember name) who wanted to urge the UK to tool up. I was a prolific poster and linked to this. USA 4.43% of the world's population yet own 42% of the world's firearms.

I'm interested in whether the NRA is still a major influence on politics. I presume so, given it's a conservative thing and Trump has more than once posed with guns and the GOP are making guns more available.

Someone needs to have a word with the State legislatures - I remember articles from a few weeks ago where one state, perhaps Arkansa, was seeking powers to prevent protests/detain protesters where there was the potential for violence. Hmm

Happy to help MrsT :o I used to love GLC.

I see Elmer Fudd Amber Rudd wants encrypted messaging apps to either provide backdoors in the light of the Westminster attack. If they are forced to do this we might as well have no encryption at all.

I wonder what else is an affront to democratic values?

I saw that as well doctortwo. It is exactly the sort of thing someone who has not even the faintest idea how the technology works says. She is apparently going to go and ask the EU to support her call for tech companies to create backdoors so the intelligence services can read encrypted info. The fact that this also creates a backdoor for anyone else who happens to wander past clearly escapes her (or she doesn't care). She is, quite frankly, an embarrassment and i hope the EU laugh her out of town. Hmm

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 27/03/2017 09:56

That thread about steele's dossier is pretty compelling. I hope he testifies soon - it might be what helps to impeach Trump.

GingerIvy · 27/03/2017 10:42

This Kushner thing sounds suspiciously like a "think tank" to privatise government stuff - and privatise means money in the pockets of Trump, his family ,and his friends.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 27/03/2017 10:48

I think they're going to try and squeeze as much money as they can from the country before the Trump family is out. I read somewhere a shocking statistic about how much money they've already made in these two months - will try to find it.

I don't understand why they say this - there are tons of them that have gone "underground" from what they are saying. Are they not saying basically that they'll have broken the tip off the iceberg??? Then the iceberg is floating free worldwide, to pop up elsewhere?
