I agree about no April Fools jokes. DH and I have already told each other that. Yes, there's humour to be found (very dark humour) but not in an April Fools' 'Guess what? Trump's resigned/jumped off a bridge/joined a contemplative order!!! April Fools!!". Tain't funny, McGee!

Re Flynn, there are so many ideas, thoughts, strategies about what's really behind his request for immunity that I've given up trying to second guess it. Since it didn't happen, I guess we'll never really know.

Hopefully there's so much dirt on him they don't need him 'on side' so can take him down anyway.

The thought of 45 trying to genuinely negotiate with Xi brings me out in a cold sweat.

I am not at all surprised at him stalking off. This is a man who has been surrounded by 'yes people' and who has basically been unchallenged for decades. And when he has failed in the past he's been able to blame others or walk away saying 'Meh, I don't care' and left others to sort out his messes. I'm sure it's been a rude wakeup call for him, these last couple of weeks, not hearing 'three bags full, sir' from Congress and the press. And being asked why he isn't sorting his own shit out. I'm not sure he can handle it.

All we can hope is that he gets a real bug up his arse and resigns saying "You don't appreciate my greatness? Fine! I'll show you! I'll quit and you'll just SEE you can't live without me! You'll be begging me to come back!!!".

Yes, it would have been nice to see the 15-20 seconds before that video. I hate to be seen as defending him, but there's nothing to really suggest he stalked out. Just that he wasn't going to answer questions

But, and maybe it's just that I avoid hearing his voice, but does his speech sound slightly slurred in that video? To me it sounded as if he had taken tranquilizers or something.

I doubt he's really 'with it' much of the time.

You'll note that Pence is on alert most of the time, especially when he goes 'off-piste'.

He reads his notes so badly. He does sound very breathless and uncomfortable.
