I know what you are saying ginger, that they are run by someone in Trump's team. I don't really see evidence of that either, they seem pretty straight up anti-potus to me. I just don't think they have said anything that we couldn't all work out or guess for ourselves. I don't really get why people are getting all conspiracy about them to be honest. They were good at the start as they came with the rogueEPA accounts that really galvanised the resistance, but they are pretty irrelevant now. Why the big deal and the constant attacks? I find it weird, unnecessary and bit unpleasant to be honest.

I'm glad he's speaking out.

Obama can't really but as a (seemingly moderate now!) republican ex president he can hopefully help galvanise the majority of decent republicans out there into questioning the madness of King Donald

Today: announces freeze on public sector recruitment. And gives his daughter a job.

Ummmmm Hmm

GingerIvy · 30/03/2017 12:27

Bigly I agree, they've changed since it started. That's why I think that. I think it started with someone that was "rogue staff" trying to make a difference, and they've either broken under the pressure or been taken over by someone that is more in line with current WH policies and are attacking people.

Natsku · 30/03/2017 13:03

They do seem to have changed, maybe the account did get taken over to make use of its followers.

Natsku let us know how your protest goes. I don't think of Finland as being a great protest culture, but could well be wrong

Our anarchists like to riot protest but apart from that there's not a lot of protesting going on, people have become too comfortable I think. There's a refugee protest camp (as in refugees camped up on the railway square to protest against being deported, not a camp protesting against refugees) in Helsinki that I'd like to visit and lend my support to as well.

Ivanka Trump is making her White House job official cnn.it/2obHFUN

Interesting. I still don't like it. Smacks of nepotism and frankly, surrounding himself with family only and very close acquaintances and business associates, rather than simply putting in the right people for the job who have actual experience, is IMO not a good idea.

Roussette · 30/03/2017 13:26

I think it stinks. The reason Ivanka and Jared don't take salaries is because that means they can't be fired.

How can DT keep breaking the rules... Dubya helped his father but he wasn't allowed in meetings etc. Ivanka has free rein and I think somehow the trump family have found a way round the nepotism laws

Going without a salary is how they're dodging the nepotism rule as well, I believe.

There was a tweet posted the other day saying that the Chinese Pres isn't actually staying at Maralago, but at another hotel in Florida. I wonder whose idea that was and if the Chinese drew a line at actually staying in one of Trump's hotels? I agree ego that if I were him i would be a little peeved at not getting a state visit to the White House or another official residence at least.

Will the members at Mar a Lago be invited to the dinner too? Selfie opportunities for those who have given Trump lots of money.
