It wouldn't be a wise move now, as GOP does lead Congress, but if Democrats were to gain both majorities, and the President struck a deal, changed his Administration and so on, I don't think there's anything against it.

People don't vote for a party, they vote for a candidate.

I don't think it's a serious proposition, but I'd expect anything from Trump now. He doesn't play by the same rule book.
