...to wonder if Youniqe makeup is actually any good?

A friend of mine is trying to sell it, and is pushing it quite hard. I sort of want to support her a bit, but on the other hand, I don't want to waste my money on make up I'll never wear.

I normally wear MAC, Illamasqua, Urban Decay and some bits from the Body Shop and decent LUSH foundation, just to give you an idea of what I buy usually.

Does anyone have any experience of Younique. I have zero intention of becoming a Younique bot, btw, and joining the pyramid scheme. I can't think of anything more painful. I just want to be helpful.

People have said it's comparable to rimmel, collection 2000, etc. Not the likes of Mac

I mainly hear that it isn't awful , just massively overpriced.

My worry would be that by getting a little something you'd just encourage her to think she's doing well rather than being patronised, but I understand the need to support a friend.

Bah. Yeah. I don't like Rimmel or Collection 2000. I don't think I'd wear it.

(I know I sound like a snob - I promise, I'm not. But I do save and prioritize and like nice make up because it gives me confidence)

I've heard it's overpriced crap. The quality isn't great and it has the habit of glooping up easily so you don't even get to finish it

A friend started pushing that stuff recently as well and I found that it is just overpriced rubbish. Couldn't find any reviews for it from people who do not work for them, which also tells you something.
Save yourself some money and tell your find you're not interested.

I've got a friend that's pushing it. The mascara looks a bit shit tbh, quite clumpy. Rest of the stuff looks OK, but massively overpriced.

I've tried a lot of very expensive foundations before and younquie is definitely better. Does dry or go claggy like Estee lauder or benefit. I haven't tried anything else.

It's basically Rimmel or Avon at Mac prices if that helps. Also, it's a mlm and sends people crazy and cultish.

It would not be helping your friend to support her in her foolish belief that this is going to make her rich. The sooner she wakes up the better.

One of my acquaintances keeps trying to sell it by putting videos on Facebook of her applying it (very badly) it looks very patchy. The dark lipsticks don't give coverage and the mascara seems to clump.

It's very cultish. I happened to be next door to a younique sellers event for and it sound like an evangelical church.

The cultish thing I've noticed. Her FB has totally changed - it used to be pretty chatty and quirky and interesting. And now...it's like she's been replaced by a marketing bot talking about how amazing Younique is. I get she's not had a great time of it professionally for a while and I think she thinks this will solve all her problems. But I suspect it won't. Not sure I can tell her that without it massively negatively impacting our friendship though.

Yep, quality wise I'd say comparable with urban decay. So not awful, but it's priced more in line with high end products so overpriced for what it is.

Tabsical: I have the same sort of friend. She was continually messaging asking me to buy/host parties and I just told her: good luck with Younique but I'm really not interested thanks. It's not my thing.

She's got the message and hasn't been offended

I have a younique bot for a friend - she's lovely and naturally outgoing so is one of the more successful ones. I agreed to try a sample then claimed it gave me a rash so I must be sensitive to something they use. Such a pity etc etc and can't buy something as personal as make up as gifts for someone etc

I like the fibre lashes. They are cheaper than some fibre lashes. I mean the ines with the separate bottle of fibres in.
I got it from amazon though as I don't no any sellers.

My sil is a seller, its awful. It's taken over everything she does and its shoehorned into every family do
I lied and told her I'd had an allergic reaction to a tester someone gave me so she leaves me alone

I like their lip stain, and tend to get it when my friend has a deal on it (half price, third off etc) as it would be pretty expensive for what it is otherwise. Goes nicely under a Clinique chubby stick, as a bit drying otherwise.

As a bot, she is unfortunately destined to fail and either end up having broke even or, more likely, at a loss. Most of the time their only income is from friends who are guilted into it and trying to be kind but they have to then spend themselves to meet their targets. The kindest thing to do really is to say no, so they can see the truth about how little money is in it for them straight away.

If, however, you really do want to buy something, then demand samples. You wouldn't buy from a high end brand without trying the product first so expect the same!
