It's to help people keep up with events and to be able to contribute and gain awareness of the current political situation in the US and the West (to some degree)

History students in the future might link all the threads since they started on Trump (I believe Meryl Streep was the first AIBU link that started this a few months ago) and use them as a guide to Trump's presidency.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I figured it was solely to fill the gaping empty void of my life that leaves me with nothing better to do than discuss the intricacies of the Trump presidency. Of course this is between bouts of weeping deluded liberal tears because i will never be a winner like Trump.

The point is that we got to 1000 posts on the first thread so I carried it on. We then filled that quickly and Trump just keeps on giving. We kind of feel obliged to carry on the next conversation.

It's fascinating.

This may well have been posted already as I haven't read the last few pages (seems be hosting a random play date today - so much for being spoilt on Mothers Day!)

Same here. Am going through a difficult patch IRL and the Trump administration provides a bountiful distraction. Also, I like hanging out with the other posters here, who are a witty, convivial bunch - whilst I quietly weep my deluded liberal tears, of course.

I'm just going to sigh a bit at this one. Maybe shed a few more deluded liberal tears. Some people will never change their minds no matter what happens.

OK, Bigly. I have to comfort myself with something I read earlier that only G W Bush (2nd term, I think) won the popular vote in the last umpteen elections and the old, grey, white Republicans who shore up the party are dying out. We just have to trust the demographics and play a long game. They're buttheads, but they are in a dwindling minority - unfortunately bunched in lots of key marginals, which help with the Electoral College.

I am all for your new business venture if you donate the profits to ACLU or Planned Parenthood, Bigly.
