AIBU.. To beg for dissertation help!

Hi everyone!

I'm currently in my second year of a degree in 'education and childhood studies'. I have to submit my proposal for my research article soon ready for my third year and I have no idea what to do!
It can be anything education or child related. I have an interest in home or maybe gender stereotypes.

What could I do specifically? Please help and give me some direction.

I'm really struggling It's keeping me awake at night!

Homework!

I'm a seasoned primary school teacher and homework has always been a bugbear of me (and colleagues and parents alike).

The children who don't do it. The children whose parents do it. The children who spend too long on it so that it becomes a torturous battle every week. The children who spend 2 minutes. The parents who think it's incredibly important. The parents who don't. The children who don't have anywhere suitable to do their homework and do it anyway. The pride some children take in their homework books. The fact that some are tatty, dogeared and smell of cigarette smoke.

The fact that in most cases, tradional homework does not raise attainment. The fact that rather than helping to close the gap, it often widens it.

I could write a book on it
