Oh ok, thanks Saffron! :)

TrueBlueDem · 21/03/2017 03:55

And thanks Claws! My bestie has been to Australia and fell in love with it...she's been all over the world, very well traveled, and I've never heard her rave about a place as much as she did about Australia (the only thing she didn't like was the realllllly long plane ride to get there lol). On my bucket list for sure!!! Grin

TrueBlueDem · 21/03/2017 03:58

For those of you bored or not sleeping - tonight's Lawrence O'Donnell show. Smile

TrueBlueDem · 21/03/2017 04:16

Hey sorry, seems the vid above cuts off 1/3 of the way through and continues with the Chris Hayes show.
I'm tired, after midnight here... good night/day everyone!

Roussette · 21/03/2017 06:02

Thanks for the posts y'all. I've missed lots of threads but have caught up when I can, I've been away for weeks unfortunately with some Trump supporters - now that was hairy

It's good to catch up on here. Smile

CaveMum · 21/03/2017 06:18

Well done for that Rally Summary Ginger, I feel fully up to date now.

Here's yesterday's Press Briefing transcript - www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2017/03/20/press-briefing-press-secretary-sean-spicer-3202017

CaveMum · 21/03/2017 06:20

Blimey, breaking news - Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness has died aged 66.

The fact that there is already a pretty full summary of his life on the BBC news page suggests this was in some way expected: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-39185899

bumbleymummy · 21/03/2017 06:38

Yes, he's been looking quite ill for a while.

PausingFlatly · 21/03/2017 07:11

CakeGin to Ginger for that magnificent reporting last night!

Talk about taking one for the team!

I am indeed staring in abject horror at the screen, though.Shock Need a stiff morning coffee before catching up with the rest of the thread...

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 21/03/2017 07:15

Thanks for that ginger!

Time for some comic relief?

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 21/03/2017 07:21

Even though he clarified it was a joke, we know Trump's going to take that as an admission of guilt from Cameron? Right? He has no irony-detection capabilities at all.

PausingFlatly · 21/03/2017 07:44

OFFS, that stupid oaf Cameron. Of course 45's nuttier fans are going to take that as an admission of guilt.

Even when told in words of one syllable it was a joke.

This tweet posted above actually refers to a story dated last month - remember when 45 tried to get an intelligence agency to put out a statement for him? So I'm not sure why Dworkin was describing it yesterday as breaking.

CaveMum · 21/03/2017 07:59

Reading through the Press Briefing I'm just gobsmacked that Spicer tried to say that Manafort - the campaign manager ffs - had "a limited role" Hmm

egosumquisum1 · 21/03/2017 08:08

I'm sure there will be a quote from Trump somewhere on the campaign.

Manafort, great man, so good.....

Lweji · 21/03/2017 08:15

I wonder who actually wants to work in the coal mines. I bet former miners would rather have a safer, cleaner job.
It's jobs they need, not to be sent down to the mines again.
Oh, and proper healthcare to deal with the consequences of having worked in coal mines.

"Arsehole" keeps popping in my head every time I hear or read his speeches. It's been a constant throughout his campaign and presidency.

egosumquisum1 · 21/03/2017 08:23

I wonder who actually wants to work in the coal mines

I bet a lot of that can be automated now. If coal mine A in the USA can use automation to produce US coal much cheaper than coal mine B in the USA which uses people, how is that good for workers?

nolongersurprised · 21/03/2017 08:46

I've noticed that a lot of Trump supporters seem unfazed by his lack of actual plans for restoring industry etc. It's all been, "I'm going to bring back , I'm the only one who can do this, no one else can and it's all going to be so great, so amazing blah blah". The advantage of this waffle bullshit, of course, is that people seem to insert their wishes into the gaps left by actual plans. I read an interview where someone who worked as a waitress thought she'd get more tips under Trump, another woman was planning to give up work because under Trump she thought it'd be like the 1950s again and only one income would be required. I wonder if the bubble will burst?

MsHooliesCardigan · 21/03/2017 08:47

Both my grandfathers were miners. It's an awful job. They both died relatively young and respiratory problems as a result of inhaling coal dust contributed to their deaths and the Coal Board paid out a lot in posthumous compensation to thousands of miners' families. Safety was then improved but there were still accidents and it can't be great for anyone spending 10 hours at a time underground.
When is 45 going to SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT THE ELECTION?!! IT WAS 4 MONTHS AGO!!!

nolongersurprised · 21/03/2017 08:49

lweji I don't think arsehole but I always visualise the pictures of him that turned up during the campaign in which his mouth was replaced with an anus. In retrospect it was ever so apt.

Floisme · 21/03/2017 09:10

I thought Ginger's posts were a spoof Shock

Still it's good to see David Cameron shaking off his post Brexit blues - and reminding us all what stupidity really looks like.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 21/03/2017 09:18

Still it's good to see David Cameron shaking off his post Brexit blues - and reminding us all what stupidity really looks like.

LOL. Not that we need much of a reminder with the arch idiocy of Brexit still hanging over us like sword of Damocles. Numpty!

Floisme · 21/03/2017 09:21

Of course but at least Dave will be ok.

MsHooliesCardigan · 21/03/2017 09:25

I don't know how Dave dares to even show his face let alone go around giving speeches Angry

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 21/03/2017 09:29

I felt same hearing Tony Blair expressing an opinion on Radio 4 on Sunday. My mental reflex was: "oh do fuck off!" Seriously, these sideline meddlers need to find better hobbies. Obama, on the other hand, I'd be OK with his intervention.
