The longer it goes on the worse it will be. In policy terms of course, but also the damage done to standards and norms. I quite like standards, norms, even the odd streak of hypocrisy. Hypocrisy at least affirms notions of right and wrong.

Is this what you're referring to, True? I certainly hope they've found that 'smoking gun'!! I think it's going to end up being Manafort spilling his guts. He's already proven to be a man with no loyalties to anyone but himself. And hopefully he's not going to be willing to take the fall for Trump!

DH and I were discussing this just this morning. What's going to happen if there's no direct tie to Trump but it's proven that the Russians absolutely interfered with the election process. He's very wily and you know he's put many, many layers between himself and direct evidence of collusion. You know Trump won't willingly resign because of Russian interference and there would be no grounds for impeachment. Would the SCOTUS invalidate the election? Then what? They give the job to Hillary? They rule for a new election? It's just unprecedented.

To get rid of Trump the case has to be absolutely watertight. He has a lot of people believing he is the persecuted victim of a libtard plot. They will believe NOTHING against him. Trumps people are complacent and I'd say the dominant emotion is humiliation, even if they dont recognise it. Increasingly irrelevant. Economically, sure, but also culturally. This angers them, and angry people with a persecution mindset + guns are.... unstable.
