I can enjoy an Afternoon Tea, but I think it is over hyped. It is after all sandwiches, cakes and scones. These can taste lovely, but is boring compared to a beautifully made meal.

I always feel really rough after afternoon tea. My body can't cope with that density of carbs and sugar in one meal. Chuck in a couple of glasses of prosecco and I'm out for the count.

Oh, but BirdsGottaFly you have reminded me of going to my gran's on a Sunday. Roast chicken for lunch and salmon sandwiches and cake for afternoon tea. We'd get crisps too!

N/c with family after a naice ham sandwich and a cup of earl grey, only on here as Mary points out!
Went to a nice place close to Covent garden few years back, had a french theme to it. Not too pricey, a decent cup of tea and the sandwiches were filling. It was pleasant enough, but i wouldnt be in a rush to go back.(I'd rather a bowl of pasta!)

Overpriced rather than overhyped I'd say.
