to feel annoyed I stayed in yesterday waiting for this

My DD was waiting excitedly for a dress to be delivered for a wedding she is going to. Unfortunately a card came through the door saying they missed us and would redeliver at 5 past 3, My DD had to go out, so asked me to wait in for it, I thought it was strange that they would redeliver on the same day and be so specific about the time.

My DD called me at 4pm and asked if the parcel had arrived, I said it hadn't and that I really needed to go out, well...no it never arrived, then I looked at the card and it said redeliver at 15/03 The 3 looked like a 5 so my DD had read it as 5 past 3.

It did arrive today but sadly it didn't look like it did online so she is sending it back, what a waste of a day....

this is a light hearted AIBU as I realise I am just plain stupid for not realising sooner

Anyone else done anything similar?

i work for a company and we sent out letters for appointment times between 8 and 11 am. ive been shouted st so many times because people think the engineer will be there at 11 minutes past 8 as they haven't read the letter correctly, you are definitely not alone

anyoldname76 I would probably be the one who though that as well though :) I wouldn't shout at you though, be more embarrassed when I realised my mistake
