Ok it's been deleted. Just wanted to say I thought that thread was great. Just showing that not all of us are like that and anyone out there who is alone and is a bit shy about connecting with others there are some/most of us out there who will smile back, share a coffee and make small talk. Don't be put off.

I hope OP has learned her lesson and didn't get the thread deleted because she's that precious!

This will get nuked now won't it? Lol.

The one about being mortally offended that a "young mum" kept smiling at them?
Perhaps the young mum was actually looking past them at her child playing and was wondering why she kept getting glared at!
I wouldn't mind someone saying hello. Unless I'm reading a book, then you can leave me alone!

ALemonyPea · 15/03/2017 17:14

It was a PBP, so not true.

TheJiminyConjecture · 15/03/2017 17:15

It was a pbp. Too obvious to be anything other than trolling. But there are plenty of people that rude/clique obsessed. They're just not so blatant when they give their side of the story!

mummabear14 · 15/03/2017 17:16

Highly agree, I'm pretty quiet and socially awkward. Blush I have one fantastic mum friend, but I see so many other mums similar to the OP (of the other thread) that put you off approaching anyone else. Especially for a 'young mum' (25, but apparently look 16!) it is hard taking that first step, for fear of judgement or rejection. I hope she's realises just how UB she was being. Hopefully no one has been put off making mum friends, by the original thread!

PollytheDolly · 15/03/2017 17:17

Ah! Really? Fucks sake.

Still, I think it got the message across to anyone feeling a bit ostracised because there are people like that. Seen it myself.

I met one of my closest friends in a soft play centre. Another, I met in the supermarket. It's good to talk to strangers!
