In the Philippines I have eaten ice cream with chili, pork intestines and fried fat intestines and a few other things . Bicol Express was good but I still don't know what was in it. I draw the line though at trying goats eyes Ballut. I don't like eggs anyway unless they are made of chocolate Grin

I have also had dog and sneak in Vietnam and fill worms and crickets in Thailand.

Except for the ice cream and the Bicol express, I don't think I would want to try the other things again

Sheep brains? This is why I tell people not to tell me what I am eating .... and to think I used to be a very picky eater as a child and teenager

I've had Tuna friendly Dolphin.
(yes, you read that right)

MumUndone · 14/03/2017 20:36

You've eaten dolphin??

RealHouswifeofBury · 14/03/2017 20:37

Camel ... it was awful

ArchNotImpudent · 14/03/2017 20:43

Tuna friendly Dolphin

The tuna were probably cheering as you ate it!

Tequilamockinbird · 14/03/2017 20:44

I've eaten dog, cat, camel, horse, crocodile. All while traveling.

Don't think I'd have any of them again, but I like to try local dishes when I'm abroad.

I've also ate Rabbit, in the U.K. That was particularly vile.

exLtEveDallas · 14/03/2017 20:46

Yep. Dolphin.

Not on purpose I hasten to add. I thought I was eating Dolphinfish. But the waitress clarified "Yes...is Dolphin. You know... like Flipper"
Shock Shock Shock

Oblomov17 · 14/03/2017 20:46

God yes, I had Sheeps brains in Egypt. Fuck it was rank!

ememem84 · 14/03/2017 20:48

Seahorse - crispy fried seahorse with noodles in Hong Kong. I think it was some sort of test when I was with clients. It didn't taste bad as such.

And a chicken foot. Eugh. Eugh. Eugh.

And jellyfish. Tastes like you'd expect. Salty slightly fishy jelly. Eugh.

madameweasel · 14/03/2017 20:49

I've eaten mealworms and crickets. The chocolate fudge cake made with mealworm flour (and decorated with dried mealworms) was lovely, but the crickets left me feeling like I had a wing stuck in my throat for ages afterwards. Also eaten alligator - it tasted like chicken!

dudsville · 14/03/2017 20:50

Racoon. I think it was roasted or barbecued.

honeylulu · 14/03/2017 20:50

I ordered brains by mistake in a posh restaurant in France. It was quite nice actually. It looked very brain-y though.

KittiKat · 14/03/2017 20:51

Kangaroo steak
Sheeps eyes and some things I would rather not know what they were whilst in Jordan.

badhotfanny · 14/03/2017 20:51

Raw goats brain, fresh from a cut-open, recently sacrificed goat.

Yum!

DeadMorose · 14/03/2017 20:52

Earlier today I had slice of bread with salad made of boiled grated beetroot, mayo and garlic. It's normal for me, but I'm sure English people think of it as odd or even disgusting.

toffeeboffin · 14/03/2017 20:53

Escargot
Horse
Kangaroo
Smoked eel
Congee
Haggis

Badhot, where did you have that!? not hemel Hempstead surely

Gatehouse77 · 14/03/2017 20:53

Ostrich - very similar to beef and delicious.
Kudu - reminded me of pork and okay.
Crocodile - very fishy, didn't like it at all.

When in China we went to a dim sum restaurant in Xian. We have no idea what we were eating as no one spoke English and the menu had been arranged previously. Can't say we liked much of it!

DH has made game pie a few times - duck, pheasant, partridge, pigeon, rabbit, venison of varying combinations.

badhotfanny · 14/03/2017 20:53

Emem I actually quite liked chickens feet

Dontwantanicknamethanks · 14/03/2017 20:54

Womb of a cow, diced and sautéed and eaten with chopsticks. In Japan. No one told me until it was too late and no one else touched it. I was also regularly fed sheep brain salad by my mother when little. I recall I used to like it! Wouldn't now though!

badhotfanny · 14/03/2017 20:54

Also guinea pig. Thought it delicious.

ememem84 · 14/03/2017 20:56

badhot Eugh chicken feet. I was bullied into it. It freaked me out by how claw-y it looked. But brace face and ate it. Never again though.

happysunr1se · 14/03/2017 20:58

All in the UK;
Calves brains (creamy and bland like bone marrow), sea cucumber (slimy), shark (cant remember), jellyfish tentacles (chewy), abalone (kinda like liverish rich flavour), weird moss that looks like hair (quite nice), pig stomach lining (ok, mostly a texture thing) two types of "super expensive" fish stomach lining (bleurgh).

Most of the weird stuff I've had via my chinese inlaws at traditional celebrations. When I had the shark I asked them if they liked it themselves and they said no, but people expect you to have it at the meal or they judge you!

I had some chicken feet on sunday, chilli and black bean, it was alright.

juvenile unless you are vegan you are VU to be upset and disgusted that the OP has eaten dog.

Sheeps testicles (gleefully wins thread) from a Turkish resturant in London. Not as grim as they sound, sort of like scallops. Couldn't really forget what they were enough to enjoy a plateful though...
