To say that I hate dog owners more than the dogs.

I was walking in the park with my four year when a horrid dog unleashed by its owner jumped up on my four year old scratched his leg and arm deeply (will probably scar and knocked him down.

My child was shaking with fear and what's worse is the owner said "he's only being friendly/didn't mean any harm.

I hate dogs but this just reinforces my hatred but what's worse is the owners who think there pets can do absolutely no wrong. Some of us choose to not own dogs we have a right to not be scratched, jumped on, knocked down or sniffed and chased. Why can't dog owners put them on a lead.

Like everything some owners are responsible, some not. I hate it when people think you should love their dog because they do. I don't expect everyone to love my daughter or cat just because I do. My parents live on the coast and some beaches have no dogs allowed between certain dates yet some arseholes think it doesn't apply to theirs.

YANBU!

I hate dogs...

But what is detest are entitled dog owners.

I don't expect you to like my children... don't expect me to like the creature.

I believe all dogs should be on leads once out in public, unless they are in a designated area. I don't care how well trained the thing is... having some beast charge at you innocently or otherwise is not a pleasant experience. I have found lots of dog owners to be very inconsiderate... it's an animal at the end of the day, show it and other people some respect.

I have 2 dogs and am a responsible owner. I always clear up after them and always have them on lead when there are children about.

It's a shame though that we don't have dog parks here like in America. It is so difficult to find anywhere to let my dogs off lead for a good run where there are no children running around.

It's also a shame that so many parents are not responsible. I live between 2 schools and have had to stop walking my dogs at going in and coming out times. I lost count of how many children would run up behind one of my dogs and grab hold of him round his neck whilst screeching. My dogs are not used to children and if one of them had bitten one of the children I am sure all hell would have broken loose and I would have had to have him put down.

One day I had about 7 small girls run up and surround us with no warning all screaming and screeching and one of my dogs looked extremely uncomfortable. I shouted out to the mothers who were far too busy talking to each other to have noticed what their little darlings were up to. They then proceeded to act as though I was totally out of order for daring to suggest they should teach their children not to run up and grab at a dog or to make such loud noises right in their ears. I was told their children loved dogs/had dogs at home etc. I was also told if I didn't think my dogs were safe around children I should not walk them near a school!!!!!!
