First period after childbirth

AIBU to think our bodies have been through enough with childbirth and periods should just have the decency to fuck off for a long time afterwards?!

DD is 5months and EBF, but I've started my first post partum period and it's bloody agony! Has anyone else's PMT and period pain gotten worse after DCs? Or am I particularly bloody unlucky?

You're not wrong though. I've always felt that it's a basic design fault that we simply can't turn them off until we need our fertility.

Mine appeared after each birth(4) about 28 days and I was ebf and did so for over 1 year each time. I was gutted. Went straight from postpartum bleed to menstrual bleed.

Mine came back when DS was 11 months.
I had a c-section & BF until he was 17 months.

It was horrendous. I had to wear super tanpons & night time pads together - even through night when I lay on bathroom
Towels & soaked them too! (I set alarm to change). Thank god I was off on annual leave because I genuinely couldn't have managed work. Pain was horrendous.

Next one wasn't as bad & they gradually settled. Currently pregnant so don't know what will happen after DC2!

Mine came back 10months pp and I've never had a period like it.

Does anyone else get fuzzy brained /more forgetful around their periods? I seem to forget everything and in some ways it's a danger for me to drive as I'm not completely with it. Anyone else had that? It's not sleep deprivation as she's sleeping through the night and disappears when my period goes

GreyBird - I share your pain! I was on super plus tampons, big nighttime pads and sleeping on an old towel and everything was still soaking! Just getting DS to school was an absolute nightmare (black jeans, long coat)!

IamFriedSpam · 13/03/2017 09:17

oh no! Mine didn't come back for 2 years?! Although I consider that my rightful reward for having babies that fed all night long!

ImYourMama · 13/03/2017 09:32

Holy hell, I honestly think this is worse than my post partum bleed. Fuzzy brain doesn't cover it, I'm lucky DD is a placid soul as today is a complete write off.

My first 3 were sent from hell. The very depths of hell. After that they settled down.
