About my neighbour n the cat?

So my neighbours cat from round the corner seems to love my garden! Angry

It constantly shits everywhere! First of all it kept going in the flower beds.......so we put netting on and then it went just by the flower beds. Now it just goes everywhere, all over the garden! Trying to mow the grass is a nightmare! Every time it's a nice day and the DD1 whose 4 wants to play, myself or DH have to go out and clear up all this cat shit.......we don't have any bloody pets!

I see it in the garden all the time.....I've hissed at it, sprayed cat repellent, lemon juice, coffee grinds, spray it with the hose!
I'm at the end of my tether.
When I found out who the cat belonged to (it went missing for a few days and my neighbour came round all the houses asking) secretly wishing it had wondered off forever! I did mention that it kept using my garden as a toilet and she said "what am I supposed to do?"

Thing is if this was a dog it wouldn't be allowed and I feel like putting all the poo in a bag and putting it in her garden!

Any advice on what the hell to do?

Short of putting some meat with poison out there

I'd just knock on her door to come clean up. Every. Single. Time. Perfectly reasonable of you, she can't exactly complain. It is her cats mess. In the meantime try your safe repellents. It's not the cats fault, he is following his instincts, it's not like he has independent thought: "I know what'd be good today - pissing off OP". He's just a cat. It's his owner who is being inconsiderate.

I can't wait to get my own cat one day. I will be cat proofing the garden to make sure they aren't a neighbourhood nuisance Smile

I actually think sometimes the cat does it to piss me off lol if I see if out the window ...... it's like I see it smiling and when I've hissed at it or hosed it....... the next time I see it .. it's like it's saying ha I dint give a shit 😂🖕🖕🖕🖕

I never understood why people have an issue with cats killing wildlife. My two are indoors so they don't but it's natural predator behaviour. I presume you don't feel the same way about lions killing antelope

Cats are not a native species. They are introduced, and therefore not part of the ecosystem.

The ultrasonic pet deterrents are brilliant. We have been amazed at how well they work. One or more of our cats was sitting and climbing all over my hubbys car. They liked the high vantage point and the Heat of the engine. Looked like hey dad a party on it some mornings. We bought the 'pest bye' one from amazon and also bought the seperate mains adaptor Been in use for about two weeks and the car hasn't been sat on once! They offer a money Bach guarantee if it doesn't work

Onlyaplasticbagdear We have horrific problems with cats in Australia - domestic cats gone wild are capable of killing up to 30 native animals A DAY - frogs, bilbies, echidnas, all sorts of natives. There is a plan to destroy some millions of them and animal rights activists are up in arms about it - but they are not upset about the hundreds of millions of dead natives?
I love cats but people shouldn't have them without being desexed and kept in the house at least during the night.

OP Your neighbour should keep it in overnight and come round and clean up your yard once or twice a week. If she did that she would probably get a litter box quick smart!

We have a rescue greyhound, therefore no cats crapping in our garden.

It's a bizarre thing, owning predators as pets. Our dog is a sight hound so is constantly vigilant for small furry things that (in his mind) need to be killed. Indoors he's a soppy cuddle monster, on walks he is muzzled as one disemboweled squirrel is too many in my opinion and he'll chase anything that runs from him. I fully accept his nature and take measures to prevent his murderous tendancies. I find cat owners who deny their pets are capable of such things a bit deluded. I love the furry psycho in our house, but I'm not blind to his flaws.
