Does the Vicks on feet trick work with anything similar?

DD (16 months) has a chesty sounding cough that only really bothers her at night. I've heard of the Vicks trick but I don't have any. I do, however, have some 'snuffle babe' rub. Will it work?

I have been testing this on dd over the past couple of days. I found Vicks worked better than snuffle babe. Vicks says not to be used on children under 3 though.

I always stick snuffle babe on DSs feet at bedtime when he has a cold. The odd time we haven't he's woken up coughing and asking for 'medcin' whereas the nights we do the wake ups are markedly less or non existent. It could be a placebo effect for us all but I do it now at the sound of a cough!!

I used snuffle babes on DDs feet and it seemed to work!! Smells just like Vicks to me!!

I did snufflefeet on my 2 yr old, he did sleep better last night
