To think that people living on welfare shouldn't be running off every five minutes for a new tattoo or piercing?

I'm probably going to get shot down for this, but I just had a little disagreement with a woman I know. She posted a photo on Facebook of a rather large tattoo on her forearm that she'd just had done. Last month she had skin divers put in her chest and hand. The month before she had another shit tattoo.
This individual is single and has two children. She hasn't worked a day in the last decade, but is living off the state. Am I being a bitch by thinking she should spend the money she receives on feeding the children and keeping a roof over their heads? I noted that she feeds her boys Pot Noodle for dinner but makes sure she's got her fags too. It just annoys me.

Thanks Pixies

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:07

So how would we pay gas, electric, television licence. How would we buy books?

DawnDonna you're being unreasonable for expecting them to think that far ahead Wink

Alfieisnoisy · 10/03/2017 12:07

Takesthis.

Wha about benefit claimants like me...30yrs of work history (mostly full time) until we needed to be Carers.

Fuck off with your food stamps. I am NOT a second class citizen and I like to shop around for best value.

People here are pissing me off now...some of you have a hole where compassion should be and you can just fuck right off.

I am TIRED...I barely slept last night BECAUSE my son does not sleep well and may endanger himself and because my Dad (Alzheimer's) kept phoning me about an appointment he had today.

Yes I am now resorting to childish insults because too many people have not read the fucking thread and are not answering questions. Just posting goady rubbish without responding to reasoned comments and questions.

You have no idea how exhausting being a Carer is...you really don't.

And I am SICK of being lumped in with the minority(and it IS a minority) too lazy and chaotic to work

And there are people here saying "Benefits should be food stamps" FUCK OFF.

I speak on behalf of every Carer out there because we save the Govt (and you the blessed taxpayer) a fucking fortune every year as there is no help for most of disabled people or families who support them.

Oh you didn't mean Carers?

How much will it cost to administer food stamps then? Done your figures? Is it cheaper than the current system? Here's a tip....look at how well it hasn't worked in America and then comment. I think you'll find it was a disaster.

Childish insults....not because I have run out of arguments but because I am mentally and physically exhausted ...something you will know NOTHING about until you've been in my position.

And I wish it all and more upon some of you because until you live it you won't understand.

Annesmyth123 · 10/03/2017 12:08

You're supposed to go to the library. But there's no money for the bus fare and it's probably shut now anyway.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:08

^
PortiaCassis Not me, last year I paid a fuck load in NI and tax (£8,603 income tax and £4,231 National Insurance) and claimed fuck all^

Yeah funny that. That's what they all say...

SumThucker · 10/03/2017 12:08

I think books would come under luxury items, Donna. Only absolute vital essentials with them coupons! Hmm

BantyCustards · 10/03/2017 12:09

Another carer here, Alfie.

And I join you in your sentiments of telling idioti, myopic people where to go.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:10

So you don't claim working tax credits then Take? Do you have children?

PortiaCastis · 10/03/2017 12:10

Great post Alfie well said and sorry you have to put up with the ridiculous insults. Hope you are ok

PageNowFoundFileUnderSpartacus · 10/03/2017 12:10

IFartGlitter that's probably the most sensible comment on this thread.

I'm out.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:11

Yes I am now resorting to childish insults because too many people have not read the fucking thread and are not answering questions.

Basically anyone who advocates shooting benefit claimants on a thread deserves all the shit they get. If you can't take it don't dish it out.

Alfieisnoisy · 10/03/2017 12:11

And I was a HR tax payer for several years...but I still retained my compassion. I don't give a shiny shit how much you paid in tax and NI last year

Some of you will never know compassion all the while you have a hole in your arse.

See I can do crude insults too. AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Am going to catch up on some sleep now while I still can before it's nighttime again and it all starts over.

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 12:11

Well maybe some people do actually do that. High earners without children who don't use the NHS who are working hard, pay fucking tonnes into the system and get jackshit out. I'm one of them.

Maybe some of them (us) are telling the truth about that.

Just as some (most) people claiming benefits who say they're not fiddling the system are also telling the truth.

PageNowFoundFileUnderSpartacus · 10/03/2017 12:12

Oh, and bravo Alfie, great post.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:12

You're supposed to go to the library. But there's no money for the bus fare and it's probably shut now anyway.

Ours has been demolished.

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 12:13

Away No, I don't get working tax credit, I don't have children.

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:13

My library is indeed shut Anne. It's fifteen miles to the nearest one and the return fare would be the cost of a book! Grin

SumThucker · 10/03/2017 12:13

Alfie Flowers

PortiaCastis · 10/03/2017 12:13

A lot of posts are based on ignorance and stereotyping

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:13

Maybe some of them (us) are telling the truth about that.

So if you're telling the truth answer the questions put to you then. Do you have any children?

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 12:14

As I said above, no I don't have any children.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:15

Well maybe some people do actually do that. High earners without children who don't use the NHS who are working hard, pay fucking tonnes into the system and get jackshit out. I'm one of them.

Ah that's lovely of you then. Assume you have a private GP too given you don't use the NHS at all.

BantyCustards · 10/03/2017 12:16

MOST benefit claimants are not fiddling the system, Take (love the name btw).

Now, surely on Google there are some stats on exactly how much large corporations TAKE from the coffers in the name of 'tax avoidance' in a country that is classed as one of the greatest tax havens in the world...

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:16

Alfie Flowers
I had a 1 a.m stint. A 2.30, a 4.30, a 5.00. I gave up at 5.30 and got up. Same old rigmarole tonight. I'm going to take her out in a minute, I'm spending someone's tax money on a treat for lunch, bacon butty and a milkshake for her, coffee for me. Grin
Hopefully that'll keep her focussed and cheerful and the input may tire her enough that we both get a couple of hours tonight!

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:17

TakesThis you haven't answered my questions about paying bills, having a television, buying books.
