To think that people living on welfare shouldn't be running off every five minutes for a new tattoo or piercing?

I'm probably going to get shot down for this, but I just had a little disagreement with a woman I know. She posted a photo on Facebook of a rather large tattoo on her forearm that she'd just had done. Last month she had skin divers put in her chest and hand. The month before she had another shit tattoo.
This individual is single and has two children. She hasn't worked a day in the last decade, but is living off the state. Am I being a bitch by thinking she should spend the money she receives on feeding the children and keeping a roof over their heads? I noted that she feeds her boys Pot Noodle for dinner but makes sure she's got her fags too. It just annoys me.

I completely agree with the OP. Benefits should be paid in food stamps, not cash

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 11:54

What if you work hard but still claim WTC because your wages are crap?

I need to know the hard working class rules

I do too dontactlikeyouknowme. Maybe it's okay if you can show you didn't pay for your tattoo out your state funded working tax credits.

Annesmyth123 · 10/03/2017 11:54

Nceccoli?

Am I invisible?

SumThucker · 10/03/2017 11:55

So one poster is not representative of all benefits claimants but your mythical virtuous, blameless victim clam ain't is somehow representative of all benefits claimants and the scrounger is a mere figment of imagination?

That hurt my head.

Dontactlikeyouknowme · 10/03/2017 11:55

Food stamps for which shop though?

M & S ?

2 questions.

  1. Including benefits to those in work? Or are they hard working class enough to not need stamps. Presumably the rest of the feckless poor cant be trusted with money. Even though many dont drink/smoke/have tattoos/do drugs.
  1. How are they meant to pay for their gas and electricity if on prepayment meters? Should they have separate vouchers did that?
Dontactlikeyouknowme · 10/03/2017 11:57

Could you be in the hard working class gang if you don't work but your rich parents fund your lifestyle?

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 11:58

God no! They might catch poor! They should only be allowed to darken aldi and lidls doorways.

PortiaCastis · 10/03/2017 11:59

I wonder how many people are advocating food stamps yet claiming tax credits

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 11:59
  1. Yes, all benefits paid in food stamps.
  1. Yes, separate vouchers that can only be used for gas/electricity.
Annesmyth123 · 10/03/2017 11:59

I'm worried I don't work hard enough because my mental health is such that I'm better in a less stressful job that is well within my (on paper) capabilities. I recognise this and don't push myself.

Can I have my working hard enough class badge?

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:00

I got a brilliant mahoosive pizza from M&S last week for £3.50 on the way home from an MRI. but it was yummy. Kids ate every bit.

Dontactlikeyouknowme · 10/03/2017 12:00

What about shoes and clothes? Are the poor allowed to buy them?

SumThucker · 10/03/2017 12:01

The words have lost all meaning now.
Was it Hard Working Class? Working Hard Class? Class working hard?

Can't quite remember.

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:01

Try using google. You're obviously not completely daft. You even managed to point out that it was a perception in your other post:
a sufficient number or at least what the voting public perceive to be a sufficient number as taking the piss and voting Tory and perpetuating the need for austerity as an ideology
Should you use google you will find that fraud figures are actually very low and as has been pointed out, there is more in the unclaimed benefits pot than is being given out to fraudulent claims.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:02

TakesThis how do you propose people pay their bills? Council tax and rent and somewhat?

I hope you dont claim any benefits like child tax credits or working tax credits. Or your partner if you have one then.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:03

PortiaCassis lots probably. They won't admit to it though. They'll say they don't claim any because they'll know how stupid they would look.

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 12:03

Yes, with vouchers

D1az · 10/03/2017 12:03

Those food stamps and vouchers will be fantastic when something breaks down and can't be replaced because the person has no money.
So they can get food and eat it in a freezing cold house because the boiler broke down and the engineer won't accept vouchers as payment...

IFartGlitter · 10/03/2017 12:03

I can't believe this obvious attempt at goady twattery is still here.

I wouldn't give it any more airtime folks, ignore the obvious goady fuckers and the facist thundercunt. It isn't worth your time trying to explain the real world to idiots who victim blame abused women.

There's a few very hairy fuckers on here getting their kicks denigrating those less fortunate. Sad really that their lives must be so empty that they feel the need to feel superior, I bet they only look down to see who their stepping on.

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:04

So how would we pay gas, electric, television licence. How would we buy books? How would we purchase clothes? What happens to people like me who live rurally, eight miles from a supermarket. How do I pay for the fresh fruit and veg that I usually get (more cheaply than the supermarket) from the street market?

BantyCustards · 10/03/2017 12:04

Dear goodness.

You cannot argue with stupid.

Of course some people take the piss (see my post regarding the lamentable situation of working full time and STILL having to claim benefits due to the ridiculous situation of the government having to subsidise the payroll of employers)

Dawndonnaagain · 10/03/2017 12:05

Yes, with vouchers
Will Waterstones accept them or am I not allowed books whilst on benefits?
How about we do the same with pensions...

AwaywiththePixies27 · 10/03/2017 12:05

AnneSmythe123 yes I'll let you have your hard working class badge.

TakesThis · 10/03/2017 12:06

PortiaCassis Not me, last year I paid a fuck load in NI and tax (£8,603 income tax and £4,231 National Insurance) and claimed fuck all.
