Gave away a jumperoo a couple of months ago as there was a bolt missing.

The woman is now selling it on for money with the bolt still missing. Would I be unreasonable to comment that I gave it to her for free or is it just ok to do that because it's now hers?!

You gave it to her for free. That was your choice. At that point, it became hers to do what she wished with it. It is annoying though. I gave a kids bike to my next door neighbour for her son. I never saw him on it, then he appeared with a brand new bike. She had sold the one I gave her and put the money towards a brand new one. I could have sold it myself, but I didn't. My choice, and I feel like I missed out, but I learned for next time, as I'm sure you will.

It is so cheeky when people do this. I don't buy all the 'it's theirs now, nothing to do with you' It's rude and cheap.

Maybe make a joke of it, by commenting 'if that is the gymbyroo I GAVE you three months ago remember to mention a bolt is missing before you SELL it on'

Im always giving away my dds toys, clothes and household bits i dont use anymore. Im sure some if the people i have given free items to have sold them on for money, but theres a reason why we didnt. You were being a nice person by giving it away so leave the other person to do as they wish.

It is a bit cheeky, I'd probably comment to DP about it and we'd both have a bit of a giggle over it but I wouldn't comment to the person. For all I know that person could be in a dire financial situation where that money could seriously come in handy, it might not be a case of greed, I wouldn't try to embarrass someone if that were the case.

Totally unreasonable. You didn't want it so you gave it to her. It wasn't a loan or even a favour. She can do what she wants with it.

Completely fair enough, her child might not have taken to it or she might have struggled with the bolt missing. She might need the money and be desperately looking for anything unessential that she can sell, if you were in that situation I'm sure you wouldn't want people judging you for it.

It's cheeky as fuck but technically it's but her to do with what she pleases.

I always give away if it has been given to me for free, no matter how expensive! I couldn't profit from someone else's charity!

It's not cheeky at all. Even though you gave it away it's hers now to do with what she wants. So is she supposed to pas it on instead of selling? She obviously doesn't need or want it anymore so what is she supposed to do with it?
