Don't have Bt but I had same prob with aol. After trillions of phone calls and having to go through the yes it's plugged in crap with them, finally got them to send bt to check the line. But they(BT can't do it at the weekend or after 4 o'clock!)Heyho it's nothing to do with me, my computer or anything connected to my house- it was bt's fault in the exchange! But this took nearly a month to get to this point- I had given up by this point and am still waiting for a message to say it's fixed. Know it doesn't help any but just wanted to let you know you're not alone in your frustration.

We used to have BT and we were ALWAYS having problems! Now we've got TalkTalk, and (touch wood) have never had any problems with it.
