HelsinkiLights · 06/03/2017 04:15

Very Russian Russians lovely guys. Siberia is the best.

Trump probably things the phone lines are taped with duct tape Smile

Do you find that each night you feel a little bit excited about what may happen the next episode of Trumpton?
Hoping that the last episode of this final season will be on soon.

HelsinkiLights · 06/03/2017 04:18

I tried to learn Russian at uni but gave up, my brain is no good at languages.

Here's to us all surviving another day, whatever fresh nonsense it brings with it Brew

Dumdedumdedum · 06/03/2017 07:09

Though I love what the Rogue POTUS Staff account tweets, I believe it's wishful thinking on the part of some joker. Or alternative facts, POTUS's behaviour seen from an anti-Trumper point of view? Either way, I can't bring myself to believe it's legit, much as I'd like it to be Grin

SuburbanRhonda · 06/03/2017 07:15

I did, well I noticed it was Russian but didn't know what it said.

AndHoldTheBun · 06/03/2017 07:28

I drink neat potato vodka and my DH has Russian ancestry (via the USA), we are anti Brexit and Trump administration. Maybe we are Russian plants, but just haven't noticed HmmGrin?

Destinysdaughter · 06/03/2017 07:41

'Donald Jon ODrama' tweeted:

@BeauWillimon Don't forget he, i mean i am also turning USA into global laughing stock- bigly. Bad! Sad! What a cad! Makes me mad! Yet glad!

CussingQuim · 06/03/2017 07:47

Not sure who I just retweeted on this Smile:

David Rennie - Donald Trump has triggered a crisis from which American democracy cannot emerge unscathed. My blog economist.com/blogs/democrac… via @TheEconomist

Dumdedumdedum · 06/03/2017 08:08

I am more and more haunted by the prediction someone posted in the past couple of days about the 45th US President being the last. So Trump anoints himself Monarch of all he surveys (and the wall on the Mexican border) and his sons and their sons succeed him?

BiglyBadgers · 06/03/2017 08:42

The Comey business is interesting. I was listening to R4 talking about it this morning and it is being seen as a very bad sign for Trump. As Comey was considered instrumental in Clinton losing he is viewed as being tied up with the Trump camp to some degree. Him openly being in conflict with Trump is serious stuff.

I don't have any Russian links, but I was in the woodcraft folk as a child, and they are basically a communist youth. Fact! All those cooperative games no doubt warped my squishy child mind making me particularly susceptible to lefty propaganda...or something

PausingFlatly · 06/03/2017 08:43

David Rennie? He's this chap:
mediadirectory.economist.com/people/david-rennie/
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rennie_(columnist)

Journalist whose late father was head of MI6, for those who love a bit of conspiracy thrill. Grin

PausingFlatly · 06/03/2017 08:49

(I'm not really suggesting anything Intelligence-y about D Rennie, BTW. In case the weird "They're all Russians" poster takes that as a cryptic hint to meet us both on the Heath by the yellow chalk mark. Grin )

BiglyBadgers · 06/03/2017 08:51

MIT have done a study on right-wing media in the run up to and around the 2016 election. Interesting stuff. Talks about how Breitbart set the media agenda and other MSM followed their lead meaning disinformation came out of the internet backwaters into the mainstream where, of course, it gains a veneer of credibility.

Our own study of over 1.25 million stories published online between April 1, 2015 and Election Day shows that a right-wing media network anchored around Breitbart developed as a distinct and insulated media system, using social media as a backbone to transmit a hyper-partisan perspective to the world. This pro-Trump media sphere appears to have not only successfully set the agenda for the conservative media sphere, but also strongly influenced the broader media agenda, in particular coverage of Hillary Clinton.

Study: Breitbart-led right-wing media ecosystem altered broader media agenda

CussingQuim · 06/03/2017 08:54

Hah, I don't think even Trump would ever go that far Dum - one thing his supporters love to talk about is the constitution etc etc, there's a lot of snottiness about kings still I think!

Bigly, that is fascinating. And scary as fuck. Confused

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 06/03/2017 08:57

Has ANgry Spice stopped doing daily press briefings then?

If so, there's doesn't seem to be much discussion about it!

PausingFlatly · 06/03/2017 09:01

Ooh, Bigly, thanks for the link to that paper.

I need to read that as a study in History of Technology, and History of Publishing, as well as wrt specific events.

"We’ve moved from the shock of Trump’s election, through surprise as to his unconventional behaviour. We’re now confused. And that’s exactly the intention. As seen from Putin’s decades in the Kremlin, ‘destabilised perception’ is the most effective technique for amassing continued, meaningful power"

Dumdedumdedum · 06/03/2017 09:30

Maybe I'm being naive here, peaceout, but I am hoping that enough people in the US are already aware of the "destabilised perception" technique to stop Trump from being a Putin.

HelsinkiLights · 06/03/2017 09:30

I can see Putin cartwheeling down the corridors of the Kremlin at this very moment, over excited by the way things are planning out.

thedcbrokemybank · 06/03/2017 09:38

Do people think that Trump knows what he is doing or he is actually thick? His behaviour, tweets etc seem so utterly bizarre that I do wonder if it is all a ploy? Perhaps he knows there is nothing on him so is bigging it up to the max so that when it all comes out he looks the hero? Or is it all just a distraction? I saw a post about the pipeline not bring made from USA steel despite him makin such a thing that it would be. That doesn't seem to have been covered by the mainstream media. Are we all just being played??....

MsHooliesCardigan · 06/03/2017 09:40

His 'Presidential' act didn't last long did it?
peace That link is really interesting but I don't think Donald Duck has it in him to be that calculating although Bannon certainly does. His outpourings to me sound more like a stream of consciousness from someone with a tenuous grasp of reality and I'm more convinced than ever that he has early dementia. Reagan was an idiot but he was far more aware of his limitations so used to delegate a lot (one commentator described it as delegation to the point of abdication).
Isn't there a new improved Muslim travel ban being issued today?
