Had a terrible day, so probably taking this personally (nearly cried as someone parked in my space!)

My washing machine broke last week, and I asked my brother if I could use his until I can get someone out to fix mine. I do loads for brother, including waking him up every morning to get to work.

He is fine with this but keeps forgetting to leave the key for me. For six consecutive days now he hasn't done so, despite me pleading with him every morning.

AIBU? I feel so pissed off.

Are you waiting for someone to offer you a free washing machine/money?

Megatherium · 02/03/2017 16:57

If you're feeling sufficiently energetic, instead of phoning him tomorrow morning, go round to his house and push the doorbell till he answers. When he does, take the key off him, put your washing in the machine, go and get a copy of the key. Sorted.

RainbowPastel · 02/03/2017 16:59

Why can't you handwash your things? It's quite simple to do.

GallivantingWildebeest · 02/03/2017 17:00

'Forget' to wake him up for 6 days. Quits!

Littlefrogletx · 02/03/2017 17:00

How old is he?

Kiroro · 02/03/2017 17:04

I don't feel laundrettes really clean your clothes!

Really? Like launderette washing machines have germs in or something?

Loads of solutions.

  • Laundette
  • Hand wash
  • Phone him just as he leaves to remind him to leave a key
  • stop being such a wet drip enabling your useless brother with a wake up call every day...
EmeraldScorn · 02/03/2017 17:04

Grab his key and get it cut!

teahouserose · 02/03/2017 17:12

Yes, of course I am Gladys Hmm

Kiro, when I used a laundrette briefly when I was moving things came out still stained.

teahouserose, YANBU to be pissed off about this. Now - what are you going to do about it?

teahouserose · 02/03/2017 17:16

Just needed a rant :)

SookiesSocks · 02/03/2017 17:17

Wow!!! £10 thats loads.

I can fit 2 normal loads in to a laundrette machine and its £3.50 plus £3 if i use tge drier.

DaemonPantalaemon · 02/03/2017 17:27

And you are unable to handwash because ... ?

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 02/03/2017 17:31

I'd just stop waking him up. Tough.

Chloe84 · 02/03/2017 17:32

You need to hand wash stains in cold water before putting them in a washing machine.

And you expect reliability from a brother you infantilise to the point of calling him to wake up in the mornings?

Stop calling your brother and call a washing machine repairer.

TeaCake5 · 02/03/2017 17:37

Why buy new knickers when you can just hand wash a few in the bath/sink?

Sundance01 · 02/03/2017 17:49

He is the one doing you the favour - why do you not collect the key from him and get a spare cut.

He obviously trusts you or he would not give you access to his house and is obviously finding dropping the key of to you a real hassle

Or hand wash or get a repair man.

He is not the only one who needs to grow up and get a grip.
