You know, like to used to be in the olden daze - pre PB and further back than that.

Where do we go onto from here? Is there an escape plan?

**Disclaimer I knew there were always arseholes here, but now it feels like they have completely taken over. I'm out more than in these days (re MN) but I do kind of miss the fun, humor, intelligence and knowledge of the forum how it used to be.

I suppose the literal answer would be pistonheads.

Bad news though - low lifes are available with all types of genitalia.

LouKout · 02/03/2017 13:23

Did i say every single poster?

No.

Confused
daisychain01 · 02/03/2017 13:24

I agree Bertrand. Difficult to avoid taat comment but just today someone said they use it frequently with their DP and several people including me commented how deeply unpleasant it is, esp. to one's (supposedly) nearest and dearest. There are a million alternatives. I don't get it.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 02/03/2017 13:26

You're asking in the place where presumably "all the cunts" (or a lot of them, aibu can be harsh) go?

this, go elsewhere on MN and its a far kinder place

Megatherium · 02/03/2017 13:26

Nothing to stop you setting up your own site, OP.

BeyondThePage · 02/03/2017 13:27

I'd prefer a mumsnet without the fear of having yourself quoted in the press. I don't tend to post anything on any of the controversial threads now. Seen too many stories make the daily mail web pages - with usernames and quotes etc.

MrsderPunkt · 02/03/2017 13:29

Well fire up the DeLorean and fuck off back to your 'olden daze'.

TeaCake5

It would be good if goady threads like this were avoided too.

Indeed it would. Some people do not seem to get the concept of double standards.Hmm

FannyWisdom · 02/03/2017 13:32

I've been knocking around years (even survived Moldies) I'm a massive cunt sometimes.

Stick a 'Must be Robust' warning on AIBU and do stern frowning at cuntlets on other topics.
Repeat every few months.

I've seen pictures of Net mums. Flared my glaucoma it did.

LouKout · 02/03/2017 13:32

Well id have thought most people would have realised that "every" just meant there was a strong tendency.

Guess there are more ways than direct abuse to not be nice to people here!

shovetheholly · 02/03/2017 13:33

There is some really cruel behaviour on the site sometimes - some people do seem to have had their empathy amputated. But for every one of those threads, there are those where people are going beyond the pale to help and hand-hold for complete strangers.

And some of the sub-communities are just lovely. Smile

MerryMarigold · 02/03/2017 13:34

I've been here for a long time. I don't think it's full of awful people but it has got a bit 'toned down' just from the sheer volume of people on here. I do have to read a few threads before I find a good'un, whereas before they all used to be great.

Emmageddon · 02/03/2017 13:35

I am wary of posting anything too identifiable and personal, because of the lazy Daily Mail journalists who use MN as a quick and easy way of writing a topical article.

Then again, if they are copying and pasting from here, hopefully they're printing less 'everybody point and laugh' photos of Tina Malone and Lisa Appleton - middle-aged women who have the audacity to look their age.

There's plenty of good on here, and so many sub-sections, it's not like it's all AIBU and nothing else going on. I like it. I'll be staying.

Am perfectly chilled. But thanks for caring.

FunnysInLaJardin · 02/03/2017 13:38

In the olden days it was much more harsh around these parts and tbh there were a lot more cunts.

But the site was funnier, sharper and wittier than it is these days. At one time you could say almost anything to anyone, now you have to watch your step for fear of getting reported and getting a telling off. I find that tedious tbh.

So I'm afraid YABU, the site is far more tame than it used to be.

PointxTaken · 02/03/2017 13:44

I agree with Funnys

that, and the fear of everything to end up in the DM. I might not have noticed it so much previously, it just seems that threads end up there more often. It's ok if you are only commenting, but it does put me off posting some issue that would be too outing.

I always think it's funny how some people get really touchy about these threads. Are they worried it's them who are the cunts or something?
