To lie about stupid things

Eg at work today was doing some photocopying and took a lot longer than expected, maybe over half an hour. I felt bad so when I went back into room handed it over to boss who asked if I'd grabbed lunch and what I'd gone for. In a panic I said I had and had grabbed a sandwich downstairs. Paranoid now that it was obvious I hadn't as I still had my laptop on me - I feel terrible for lying and worry about what people may think!!

Try to stop?

We all do this Boomer. It's part of growing up/learning to be assertive. Keep trying. Forgive yourself when you don't. Sometimes cough, if you're brave enough.

This is what being a grown up means!

I'm overweight. Last Fri my manger asked to see me during my lunch hour. She said "bring your lunch". I couldn't BRING myself (fat!) to eat in front of her, so I ate lunch early. When we met, she said "where's your lunch" and I said "oh... don't worry about that" like some martyr who hadn't eaten, instead of some bint who'd binged. I'm forgiving me and planning to be more honest next time. I'm 48!
