He made a lot of very sensible observations... And I am not a left wing reomaner.

I watched the programme last night. I thought it took an objective look at the situation, because it's not clear-cut or black & white. I also spent some time on twitter and it seemed to me that many of the tweets were made by people who interpreted the message of the programme to be anti-PC. I didn't see it that way, and the title of the programme itself was; "PC gone mad?" The question mark is a clue to the programme content.

I thought it was quite balanced. Trevor Phillips made it fairly clear where he thought people were a bit ridiculous on both sides. I do think it was more critical of no platforming and offence taking and virtue signalling than not.

'that they shouldn't confuse symbols with substance.'

Yes, that was a really important point, I thought.

YABU to use the term "Remoaner". It's childish.

I liked this a lot.

Interesting to see how political correctness has inveigled its way into quite justifiable criticism of religions. A statement about the prophet muhammed was ranked as the second most offensive – I was amazed. I consider religion as fair game for mockery and criticism. Completely different to racial slurs or poking fun at people’s weight, gender, disabilities, etc. If the card had said “the virgin mary wasn’t a virgin, she was a lying whore, and jesus was a charlatan and a conman” I doubt that would’ve been anywhere near the top of the list.
