Thank you everyone! I had no idea who the artist was and my guesses/google searches were proving to be fruitless. I knew that mumsnetters would have the answer!

The painting was a wedding present given to my parents that, following divorce spent many years in a loft. I love it and was just curious/frustrated by not knowing who painted it.
