Quick question, what is GOP? I've been following for a few threads now & was determined to figure it out... Then I gave up & decided it must stand for Game Of Presidents.

I will not be attending the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!

I suspect this is because so many organisations were refusing to either attend or have the parties afterwards. I think he was pre-empting an empty dinner.

Are they mounting an 'alternative' dinner do we know? (Complete with stellar guest list of course.)

Actually, I was thinking about this and I suspect the WH Correspondents Association may have uninvited the President, instead, in retaliation for the press ban. Or may have threatened it.

Regardless, in its usual format he wouldn't like it at all.
