To park outside my neighbour's house and refuse to move?

We live on a busy road and as such parking spaces are always at a premium, but we usually take up the same spaces. Anyway when I got home earlier there was nowhere to park as someone had parked right outside my house.
I had to park about 4 houses down as it was the nearest space available.
About an hour later the person who lives in the house (who has never spoken to me before and I have lived here 5 years) knocked on my door and asked me to move my car, I refused as I had just washed my hair and was in my pyjamas.
He walked off calling me ridiculous.
AIBU or would you have moved your car ?

We had a neighbour who was the self-claimed boss of our shortish street. His best directive was to tell my husband and I that our guests should not drive past his house as our house was 1 house closer to the other end of our street and therefore they should only drive into and out our street from that direction. Idiot man!!

We don't know what the man in question said

As the OP seems to have buggered off and left people to assume all sorts

Don't know why we bother

Sounds very reasonable, MrsCrabby

This thread sounds so much like my street...
I live on a terraced house type of street, my two neighbours are both old and were right at the end of the road so 3 spaces outside the house... the elderly neighbours EXPECT a space outside their homes, baring in mind... they're all in good health and capable of walking long distances (as they go to the gym or classes every Tuesday and Friday mornings)...
we all came to an agreement that I'd be okay to block them all in as I'm usually last one home and first one out in the mornings with a small child... however, I try my best to find a space elsewhere within distance!
I've got a damaged vertebrae in my spine so can't carry heavy items on my own (i.e. A heavy child or car seat)... also parked outside of a cunty neighbour before who left me a lovely note calling me an "inconsiderate bastard" but saw me getting my daughter out the car so don't know why they didn't say anything at the time!!

I'd love a house with a driveway, unfortunately my landlord has refused to do so... so until I'm in the position to move then I've got no chance!
