Feeling very down today . I know I have a lot to be greatful for but I'm sick and tired of having no money. After bills and groceries etc are paid there's nothing left !!! Dh works full time, I work part time and we have 3 dcs ! We never go out and rarely buy stuff for ourselves. We're not in any way extravagant. We have 2 ( old) cars but need them to enable us to work. How do others manage ????...would love a life back. Here today on my own. Kids at school....I've no money to go anywhere. ..can't even afford the petrol. I'm not saying we are poor or anything.....debts under control.... but just nothing left at the end of the week....and no savings whatsoever ! Anyone else the same..... aibu....to be fed up .....or just being self indulgent 😕

OP, you say you are in Ireland, so is that the Republic of Ireland, so the benefits system would be different in terms of entitlements and allowances?

Something else that helps my brother's family is that they are able to get discounted entry (or free carer entry) to attractions. I don't know how this works (it might be membership of a support association for parents of children with autism) but it is just something else that can help make money go further.

Thank everyone. Will Def look up that thread really being frugal....need it badly. Will look into entitlements for ds. Services in Ireland for autism are very under resourced and understaffed so therapies have long waiting lists. Which we are on 3 year ....but nothing yet. I go to speech and langusage and social groups for ds, all funded by us....so as muh as I hate to say it...that's part of the reasons we have the lons etc.
Hope DCA will work out but I know it's not given out easily here but will try . Thanks again for the advice....as I said a bad day here but tomor row will be better 😊
