To actually wear one of these...

So, against the advice of a few MNers (and arguably my better judgement), I went and bought a "trendy" modern-ish rain bonnet (one of these - www.instagram.com/thebonnit/?hl=en). Got it in the post on Friday and now summoning up the courage to wear it if it rains on my way into work.

While this may have worked for Rihanna, still kind of wondering if I can carry it off on the tube, so in a complete abdication of responsibility, thought I'd let Mumsnet decide...

Do it.

I like those shopping trollies too. If I lived within walking distance of shops I'm certain I'd have one.

I have a funky shopping trolley. My Aunties used to make rainhats out of bread wrappers.

MollyRedskirts · 20/02/2017 23:06

I've seen these around Liverpool a lot. Only on young women with their hair in rollers during the day. No-one bats an eyelid.

I used to have a funky shopping trolley. It just screamed "she's in denial". Got a proper tartan one afterwards.

Shopping trolleys have been acceptable for years. I remember seeing some young Japanese girls with weird comic-type clothes and shopping trolleys. That was 15 years ago! Lots of younger women use them in London. I think the rain hat thing looks fine if you have all the trimmings but I'd fear a sweaty head!

i LOVE it! So retro.

I'd love some of these and I'd send some to my friend Cath . Who was it upthread who said they sell them in packs of 3 for £2? P-l-e-a-s-e get me some! I want some.

My mum wears one of those, she's 68 but I admire your confidence Janesmom, although such "bold" headwear wouldn't be for me!
