Today a young woman at our local train station died after taking her life in front of a moving train as it pulled into the station in front of a lot of other passengers and people on the platform.

It has been repeatedly explained at the station, on trains, on social media the reasons why the trains were delayed, the reasons why the next trains were busy etc and yet people are still moaning at the stations, on the trains and on social media. People are whining about compensation and money back and how unacceptable it is not to have a contingency of extra staff in case some of them might witness someone take their own life.

I mean come on people, I know it is annoying when you have your train delayed but someone DIED, you get to go home to your families tonight whether it be slightly late, that young girls family never will.

Feeling rather sad tonight.

I can see this from both sides, but my view is tempered by the suicide that prevented my friend from seeing the specialist that may well have been able to save her life if she could have seen him on the first attempt.

Boney.Flowers. They still don't take MH as seriously as they should.

My dad was dying I knew it but thought we had a few more days than we did. I got the call to come to the hospital early - I'd planned to be there in the afternoon - but by 9am they knew he was not going to live long.

A lorry had lost a load on the motorway. There had been an accident. I was five hours in traffic. My 2 under fives were in a bad way. V distressed. My DD wet herself. I didn't get there before my dad died.

Just so you know - other people's lives matter too.

I don't think anyone's saying other life's don't matter. Just that in those circumstances your not thinking about other people or what they might be going through.

I got rushed from one hospital to another when my son was dying, if I had missed his final minutes due to anything I would of been distraught.

I'm sorry you didn't get there in time bad Flowers

It's ok - thankyou - it was a long time ago now. Your situation is so much worse - very, very sorry to hear that.

It is, as others have said, impossible to judge Everyone's circumstances are different.

We should certainly be putting more resources in to mental health care - no doubt about that - and encouraging a society that better supports its members. More easily said than done however.
