Good friend of mine was given a sofa by her friend when she moved out of a women's refuge. They've since fallen out. Friend has been gifted another sofa as it fits into her house better, and the old sofa would fit perfectly in mine. She's tried to contact her ex friend several times in the past week to see if it was okay for me to have but has not responded. I don't know whether to accept it, or decline (even though I really desperately need it, I'm going to a local charity I was referred to tomorrow to look at some but this sofa is genuinely perfect as it's a sofa bed too and I often end up sleeping downstairs with a sick child) but I don't really want it to cause issues. Should I ask the friend directly? What's the etiquette 😣
