I definitely think Paul Ryan's smirk on inauguration day had the feel of someone letting the court jester have his fun whilst the serious courtiers lined up for succession.

Ginger here's hoping this is a blip and the world will revert to sanity soon. I see scrotus as part of a bigger (western) backwards slippery slope into anarchy. At my most pessimistic, the future world would not allow for true documentaries. Just propaganda videos and TV channels dedicated to each country's dictator (a la Putin TV). I hope I am wrongSad

The concept is that to gain power in the White House depends purely on how much you are trusted by Trump
a common way to gain power is to align yourself with those already in power, but those in power can be deposed, the bigger they are the harder they fall.
In the long run it may turn out to be a bad decision to be loyal to someone who ended up looking a total arse.

Trump isnt the only ball that needs to be kept in the air, the support of the media and the public are to an extent necessary for him to stay as potus

michael flynn has been treated badly by the fake media.
papers are being leaked - it's criminal act, been going on a long time, and now it's really going on. They are trying to cover up for a democratic loss by Clinton.

Documents that were ILLEGALLY leaked. Very unfair to Flynn. (note documents were illegally leaked NOT that they were false!!!)

Israel leader (don't ask me to spell it) is going on about how awful Palestinians are.

Palestinians have to get of their hate that they teach in the school room at a very young age. I've seen it. There's no way a deal can be made if they don't acknowledge this.

We are going to have peace, stop crime, do everything in our power stop long simmering racism, lot of bad things have been going on.

I won election because we have a very divided nation.

So many friends and my daughter and son in law are Jewish. You are going to see a lot different USA over the next 3-4 or 8 years. You're going to see a lot of love.

(which means he didn't bother to answer the question about how he's going to address all the anger/attacks towards Jewish people in the US)

I can't watch the press conference but it sounds like a car crash.

I am always quite uncomfortable with the way the US basically green lights anything that Israel does, no matter how dreadful. I wonder if they discussed the planned new settlements or anything contentious at all - or was it all back slapping and BiBi snuggles?

Trump does not care about antisemitism. He cares about Isreal and giving Isreal whatever they like, whatever the cost to the Palestinians (because they are all Muslim terrorists, right). I don't think it would cross his mind that you can be pro-Isreal and still antisemetic.

It was painful to listen to his answers at the press conference. DH (doctor) is wondering if he actually does have some form of dementia, based on sentence structure, vocabulary and really not answering the questions in any real way.

I think he just has certain things he obsesses over and he brings the discussion back to that always. I often wonder if he thinks he can talk people around to his way of thinking - I do think that he feels he is much more clever than anyone.
