To STILL be checking the baby's breathing?!

He's 5 months.

At what point does your heart stop flying into your mouth when they're sleeping, and doing that shallow sleep breathing. And you stare for ages to watch their chests rise and fall. Even though their cheeks are pink. And theyre all warm and cosy. And clearly alive but sleeping.

Ds when he went into his big boys bunk.
He was 2!!

Ds is 7 and I still do it - although in my defence he has asthma so that excuses some of my paranoia I hope!

My mum still does that on occasion-and I'm 17...

No idea. Mine is 20 months and on the bus the other day he was sleeping and breathing really shallowly. Still did the hand on chest thing
Go in and check in the night tp make sure he's not choked himself on his o2 pipes and the angelcare mat is still working haha

DS is nearly 5. I still go in and check him every single night before I go to bed. I expect Ill still be doing it when hes 18 too.

I still check my older two who are 7 and 5 is they are ill. My nearly year old is still on a sensor pad so I'm no help really.

So glad Im not the only one who still does this.

I check my DD's breathing every night and she's nearly 11!

I sometimes think I'm a rubbish mother....he's my PFB as well. God knows how neglected the next one will be.

I still check all of mine, 4 year old, 5 year old and... um... 15 years old 😂

With the first one probably about a month or two, with this one he's 8 weeks and I'm already chilled. After all when they sleep it means I can crochet catch up on washing

lifenow I nearly didn't. The life sentence news was quite a shock.

Oh God, my Dd is 3 and I still check her every night. I go in and put my hand on her chest or I prod her...

She is napping on the other couch and very, very quiet so I am going to do it now

DS is 9 and I still check on him before I go to bed and if I get up in the night for the toilet or something! Can't help myself, have to make sure he's still alive 😂

I check to make sure before i turn the light off (dd 6 months)

momma it felt more like scientific enquiry than genuine concern...

Mine are 17 and 14 and still occasionally check (), although it's usually in the morning if they have in unusually late, rather than night. One can near be to careful..
