AIBU to eat the Chinese

WaitedForGodot · 12/02/2017 19:56

DW told me to order a Chinese at 7pm while she took DS (1) to bed. DS picked tonight to be a little terror and not go to sleep, I can hear him yelling over the baby monitor at the moment. He's been very clingy to her recently and won't accept me putting him to bed (just screams and screams and screams until his mummy comes into the room), so I don't think there's much I can do to help.

The Chinese turned up ten minutes ago, I've got it wrapped up tight to try and keep it warm but I fear it'll be cold before DS is finally asleep, sometimes he can take ages if he gets into a proper mood. WIBU for me to eat my half now? Seems a bit heartless but at the same time, no sense both of us having a cold dinner.

answers required quickly because in about 15 minutes time this will all be moot

Missing the point here but aren't Kung po chicken and chicken with cashews practically the same dish? Why would you order both Confused

WaitedForGodot · 12/02/2017 21:05

Eminybob - Kung Po is spicy, chicken with cashews isn't. There may be some other differences but they're lost to me because I don't like the spice level of the kung po.

Isn't it dangerous to eat lukewarm rice? Either eat it at once or nuke the living fuck out of it! I was surprised to read that you should even put leftover rice in the fridge whilst it's still hot because the less time it spends at room temperature, the less time nasties have to grow.

More importantly was the food nice? I'm on a diet so living vicariously Grin

My one year old has just turned into a screaming bedtime beast as well op 😭 I've been putting him to bed for the last hour and a half whilst cooking myself.sausages. I know it's resolved now, I'm really just posting in solidarity/misery. They won't be reasoned with. Gin for mummy I think Gin

Do we really have to tell men how not to behave like twats?

Why not?

I mean given the amount of women on here who behave like twats?

SilenceOfThePrams · 12/02/2017 21:27

For future reference, put the takeaway cartons into a cool box and sling the lid on, with hot water bottles if it's going to be a while. Will keep things hot just as effectively as it keeps things cold.

SilenceOfThePrams · 12/02/2017 21:28

And, if I were your wife, I'd be mightily hacked off if you'd gone ahead and eaten whilst I was still "working." And I'd hope you'd have the plates out and ready and a large glass of wine poured ready for whenever I surfaced.

Wth guys! DH and I both just agreed whoever wasn't on baby duty should just eat their dinner then take over so the other one could eat. I wouldn't dream of saying "I can't eat so you can't either". That's just weird :/

WaitedForGodot can you ask your DW what she would have wanted to happen if your DC hadn't gone to sleep? Because I'm intrigued then you'll know for next time.
