Don't make good the enemy. If you want a Mac D have one, but as a treat.
If you have a bad day, accept it and get back on track.
Lots of water throughout the day.
Cutback on alcohol- it makes you fat
If you are in good health, try some boot camp style exercise such as Insanity Max 30. I started this a few weeks ago and it has toned me up.
Don't add sugar to your tea or coffee, or reduce the amount.
Eat 'good'carbs

Don't feel bad about putting food in the bin if it's in the interests of you looking after and taking care of yourself.

It's a real shame to waste food when there's people out there that need it, but if there's no sensible way to give away that half bag of crisps, or those last three biscuits, or that 'spare' yoghurt, then I get rid of it. If theoretically that packet of biscuits or box of chocolates could be given away at work tomorrow, but it won't because I will dig in before then, I put it in the bin.

It's a waste but I rationalise it by thinking that it would be pretty much still be wasted if I ate it - I don't need it, it's not doing me any good, and on an intellectual level I don't even want to eat it. Obviously having the willpower to not eat food just because it's available would be better, but sometimes the bin has to help me out.

Burn more calories then you eat

Instead of 'eat less (bad) food', think 'eat more good'. Specifically - try to get at least one portion of veg with each meal. It'll help fill you up with goodness, so you're nourishing your body instead of depriving it (but you'll be more full and less likely to reach for the crap).

I've been reading about "Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis" which I understand relates to just "doing stuff" like being at work rather than going to the gym or getting steps in etc.

I've decided that whenever I make a phone call at work, I'm going to do it standing up. That way I reckon I'm more likely to move around a bit rather than slump at my desk all day.

I'd love some more tips to increase NEAT. because some days I hate exercise

Other ideas: keep the heating a degree or two cooler than usual. You'll automatically move around more to warm up and your body will use up more energy just staying warm Smile
