Just caught the last bit - he shot off fast!

GingerIvy · 14/02/2017 19:05

Spicer says Flynn did absolutely nothing wrong.... then why did he lie, and why did the DOJ warn them, and why did they lose trust if he did nothing wrong?? And phone calls were in December but Trump knew nothing about them until January when DOJ warned them?? I call bullshit. Flynn can't tell them we can relax sanctions without specific instructions from Trump, which means Trump HAD to know.

GingerIvy · 14/02/2017 19:06

Oh, and the lady with the SCIF question nearby Maralago was clearly a set up as well. How many people in the general public know what a SCIF is???

Re Maralago, there are pictures and NUMEROUS accounts from other people about the fact that it was handled at the dining room table, among the guests. There was not a SCIF mentioned At. All. But hey presto - new lies.

^Republicans senators call for an investigation into Trump's Russian connections and for Michael Flynn's testimony cnn.it/2lHhd4B6^

A real investigation or a whitewash job? I think we all know the answer to that one.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/02/2017 20:12

How is this house of cards still standing? Are there really not enough decent Republicans left to speak out loud and clear?

If Flynn lied to FBI, that's a felony: F.B.I. Interviewed Flynn in Trump’s First Days in Office, Officials Say

DH & I were discussing Trump's aggressive handshake with Shinzo Abe & DH directed me to a video montage of them on the Guardian website. My boys were watching over my shoulder & are now perfecting their tug-style Trump handshakes in the bathroom. I have the feeling it could catch on in the playground because it's so OTT.

.@SenSchumer calls for an independent investigation into Natl Security Advisor Michael Flynn, says it can't be lead by the Attorney General.

If Flynn lied to FBI, that's a felony

Ooh, how exciting. I hope they throw the book at him.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 14/02/2017 20:26

My preference would be for the recently ousted AG to lead the investigation. Well, anyone with principles & a firm grasp of the constitution would do.

yolofish · 14/02/2017 20:26

god, I just cant keep up - but thank you to everyone sharing, you have better brains than me~!

BiglyBadgers · 14/02/2017 20:53

I was watching angry spice saying how Trump absolutely definitely knew about the Russian conversation and absolutely had no problems at all with Flynn discussing sanctions with Russia and I couldn't help but feel that they are going to really regret that stance. It just sounded like exactly the sort of line that will get played over and over by the media. It just connects Trump to the whole thing far too much

I hope they've brushed up their CVs and have good networks, then.

It's supposed to pull the 'handshakee' physically off balance in order to put them 'mentally off balance' and thus supposedly puts the 'handshaker' into 'the alpha position' in business dealings/negotiations. Pure 1980s 'power' body language psycho-babble. Just another 'cheap trick' (that doesn't work) from Trump. But I'm sure he thinks it works and thus feeds his gigantic ego. PM Trudeau had him sussed on that!

BiglyBadgers · 14/02/2017 21:04

Just reading this BBC article on the Flynn business. It says:

"If the allegations are true, it would have been illegal for Mr Flynn to conduct US diplomacy as a private citizen, before he was appointed as Mr Trump's national security adviser."

So what did he say exactly and did it constitute conducting diplomacy or not?
