To adore manchester

Aibu unreasonable to love Manchester and feel more settled here than my home country.

Moved here 20 years ago after coming from home country. So lived here longer than I lived there. I love the people, the accent and just feel so settled. Isn't it funny where you settle and begin to adore. I only came for 6 months. North west always gets a bad press on here!

Thanks all for the advice. Spam, thanks for the link, that's spot on for what I'm looking for.

Acorn, I'm returning to the UK after 5 years abroad and that's how I feel. I am back in my hometown, 45 mins from MCR and looking forward to finally getting DP over here on a visa and settling down. With his line of work, we will probably have to end up down south, but I'm hoping that we can find something for him in Manchester.

Recn rly moved to prestwich after a number of years in chorlton area, love prestwich and it seems to be changing so much more for the positive, loads of great bars and restaurants, whitefield is also looking a lot better these days!

Lived here eight years, still love the city.

And where I live is definitely not predominantly white - ROFL at whoever thinks that about Manchester! Maybe those who live in the city centre or Salford Quays flats are white, but not out here in the 'burbs.

X2boys I totally agree with you about the bombing.
It totally transformed the city centre for the better.
