To not know what to say

Was replying to colleagues text last night and accidentally missed called them at quarter last midnight when replying - immediately deleted the call though so it can't have rung out for more than one second . This person is a work friend btw.

Anyway this morning they texted asking why I called, I replied and said it was an accident etc and hope I hadn't woken them - they replied saying I had ruined their sleep with an eye roll emoji! Is this a joke? I've said sorry but what the hell?

You said sorry. And texts man
Make noise too so that probably would have woken them up as well....so if it's not a joke either way you would have woken them up if a 1 second ring could wake them up. Just don't contact people that late at night....

Midnight is too late to reply to a colleague in my opinion. They might have reasons why they don't but their phone on silent that you aren't aware of (sick relative for example). I don't think they should go on about it all day, they're out of order if they do. I would maybe just say sorry again when you see them and make a mental note to be more considerate about the time you text people in the future

Did you know gullible is not in the dictionary?

Your colleague is being ridiculous - even if it did disturb their sleep because they happen to be hyper sensitive, it was a mistake - and they should have their phone on silent if they're particularly bothered by that sort of thing.

You've apologised - that's more than enough.
