about door fitting and chip out of door?

Just had a new door fitted. Cost about £800. Noticed there was a small chip out of the bottom frame yestedrfdya eve after workmen had left. This morning I pointed it out to them - they had to come back to fit another window - and they were a bit shruggy - said it must have been dropped in the warehouse, but said they'd fix it.

Their 'fix' was to squirt some sealant to cover up the chip. So now there's sealant in one corner of the frame. Doesn't look great.

DH not happy. Says if we're paying for a door it should be perfect. Doesn't matter if the damage/chip is just cosmetic; it should be perfect.

I don't like making a fuss, but can see his point. AIU? Is he BU? What would you do?

What's the door made out of? Upvc? Perhaps contact the firm who you bought the door from complain to them, rather than the fitters?

yup, refit with a perfect one or a drastic reduction in price and live with it.

Composite door, UPVC frame. Yep - it's a small local firm, and their fitters who fitted it.

Sales manager is coming out tomorrow to have a look at it. Thanks :)
