To think there is nothing you can usefully store on top of kitchen cupboards?

I have a huge gap between top of kitchen cupboards and the ceiling. But I can't use it. I have scoured Pinterest for ideas but I know that anything I put up there will just get greasy and dusty. Or am I just grubby. Does anyone usefully store anything in that space without it getting grimy?

Cereal , George foreman , actifry, box of spices and stuff , packet of kitchen roll , gingerbread house making kit , tea bags bottle warmer , slow cooker , some large glass jars and my cake box

Mum kept the medicine box up there, and all the kitchen gadgets and machines that dad would buy her for Christmas and she'd never use.

Thankfully I moved to a country that always builds the kitchen cupboards up to the ceiling! I need a step stool to reach the upper shelves but still better than dust and grease gathering up there. Our wardrobes are built in up to the ceiling too - I hardly ever have to do dusting in my house Grin

Kitchen foil, cling film and freezer bags!

Fridge/freezer drawers that aren't being used go up there. They are see-through, so don't catch the eye (cream cupboards and white walls, it would annoy me if coloured stuff was up there)

When I win the lottery and buy the house I'm putting higher cupboards in

Smoke alarm is up there too

Ours are a repository for biscuits, bread etc that need to be kept out of ds2's reach, various Lego structures that ds1 put up there, months ago, boxes of tissues and all orts of other random shite. Probably a fair few dead spiders, too.

It looks horrid, but the wall cupboards are just tiny.

Had a look. A few boxes of lovely old fashioned 100watt light bulbs and a layer of grease and dust.

I use it for hiding confiscated toys and other contraband that we forget about and leave behind when we move

I keep dust up there ( seems popular )
My poncey biscuit tin colection ( which doesn't have a small biscuit tin containing a secret stash of money for me to spend on myself , oh no 😀)
Various items that have been put up there to keep safe and then forgotten about

Thanks Astro55 Grin

Fish kettle and preserving pan. Neither are used frequently.

Have to agree with Astro55 on this Oblomov!

As they fondly say on MN - makes my teeth itch!
