To change my mind about extra hours?

We're really short staffed in work at the minute- covering for 2 senior posts. One suggested solution was that I could increase my hours to take on more - a couple of weeks ago I thought this was a good idea. However, I'm finding work really stressful at the moment, taking on more hours would mean more work and more stress - and I don't think I want to. The only thing keeping me going at the minute is my time away. So aibu to say no when asked to do more hours?? Totally fed up with it all - dread going in, getting behind and just not coping.

No, I'd do the same. If you've not got a new contract then I would just say you've changed your mind.
