to think any self-respecting cat would refuse lamb and MINT cat food

Bought a multipack of tins from Lidl. Flavours are chicken, beef and lamb and mint.

My cat looked offended when I put the offending flavour in his dish (he happily scoffed chicken and need btw).
So yes his lordship is a bit fussy but who thought mass marketing mint to cats was a good idea?

maybe he prefers Waitrose cat food.

ShimmeringIce · 05/02/2017 19:50

Isn't it related to catnip?

It's all about marketing to humans anyway, Though I bought one with tomato in a while ago and it looked foul!
I only looked at what's in catfood when ShimmeringCat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and it's shocking how little meat most contain 😟

My dog loves mint! He is a dog though, not a cat, so this may be irrelevant..

FishlessCake · 05/02/2017 19:53

Didn't lidl also do cat food pouches in egg jelly Confused

AllStartedWithABigBang · 05/02/2017 19:54

My cats favourite is lidls lamb and mint

someonestolemynick · 05/02/2017 19:56

I thought that as well about catnip. I don't, know the mint stuff smelled pretty foul as well. Like peppermint tea poured over sweaty socks.

I once saw blueberry flavour cat food. Hmm Poor cats! That's for hooking unthinking owners, not the cats.

someonestolemynick · 05/02/2017 20:08

Urgh. Blueberry flavour? What's the point of that. I thought cats can't taste sweet stuff.

Although she also eats cucumber

PenelopeFlintstone · 05/02/2017 20:11

Was it catmint? Boom tish.

Kitsandkids · 05/02/2017 21:02

My cat loves the smell of mint. She often has a good sniff of my mouth after I've brushed my teeth and she tries to get into my mum's handbag because she can smell the Polos in there.

someonestolemynick · 05/02/2017 21:15

Was a maybe his lordship is the weirdo. Of course he isn't. The cat is always right

Both our cats adore mint. They go mad for toothpaste and love to play with the foil from mint viscounts.

BestZebbie · 05/02/2017 21:45

Another person with a cat who liked mint, and not just catmint.

IcaMorgan · 05/02/2017 21:49

My old cat used to drink more of my peppermint tea than I got a chance to

someonestolemynick · 05/02/2017 22:14

Looks like his lordship is definitely the weirdo in that case.
But then again he is quite fussy in general.

Ollie adores this disgusting food that's a mix of fish and egg custard Confused second to that is pork scratchings which he crunches loudly while purring
Stable cat eats anything that isn't nailed down and will savage you if you try and take soup off her. Especially Covent Garden leek and potato Hmm

hollinhurst84 · 05/02/2017 22:20

This is it! I knew I wasn't going mad
