For all the talk of Trump being afraid of stairs, he went up and down a pretty good amount of stairs to the plane today - on film - without a wobble.

cozietoesie · 03/02/2017 21:49

What if they just ignore it?

TheOtherSock · 03/02/2017 21:51

Fascist thing struck me as likely to be a joke, like, an in-joke for seniors in their yearbooks, which AFAIK is what they're saying it was? Rather than a complete fabrication? But to me that makes it not a lot better - most people, even teenagers, wouldn't make a joke like that in their yearbooks. Maybe among close friends but not in a yearbook.

Lweji · 03/02/2017 21:58

On the Trump threads started by claig, it was kind of amusing to see the tactics the Trump fans used. Typical misdirection, starting fights for no reason, digressions, repetition, name calling, claims of "only a joke", sudden turns from being serious to just having a laugh, calling bullying when people were asking pertinent questions.
It's not just what they say. It's how they say it.
Kellyanne is a good case study for the how.

ginger

Trump is afraid of slopes

Dont blame him myself...deceptive little fuckers slopes

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 03/02/2017 22:00

Agree with lweji

amispartacus · 03/02/2017 22:04

Jumping to conclusions about an incident and tweeting about it is not very Presidential.

Lweji · 03/02/2017 22:11

Oh, this could be bad news for Trump.

A Belgian hacker redirected the links in Trump’s old tweets

Or bad news for Belgium.

On countries that start with b, btw, there's also Belize, Burundi, Bahamas, Brazil, etc.
Brazil not looking so good recently. The conservatives effectively got to power via a coup impeachment.
Belize or the Bahamas sound just about right as a refuge.

Lweji · 03/02/2017 22:14

This guy is not wrong, replying to Trump's tweet:

Hank Green ‏**@hankgreen** 5 h
@realDonaldTrump A frightened nation is easier to control, though it doesn't make better decisions. Is that why you're trying to scare us?

Hank Green ‏**@hankgreen** 5 h
@realDonaldTrump You seem very ready to freak us out about an attack in Paris where no one died, but the attack in Quebec...silence. 🤔

Deejoda · 03/02/2017 22:19

Dont blame him myself...deceptive little fuckers slopes

Yes, slippery slopes you might say

GingerIvy · 03/02/2017 22:21

Lweji

The responses to Trump's twitter really give me hope that the people will win back democracy

cozietoesie · 03/02/2017 22:25

What do you reckon to the Aftermath, though, FlyMe?

ZebraOwl · 03/02/2017 22:37

Good grief. I get well enough to make it out of the house & almost regret it...

I watched the whole of the "Germany Second" segment & thus discovered that the various TV shows have set up a website to collate them & they're hoping to get other countries to join in: www.itsgreat.eu

The host actually specifically invited the UK to submit. And made time to call Boris Johnson & Nigel Farage wankers & to ask us not to listen to them. He also reckoned on getting a video from Australia (well, if they can be in Eurovision); asked Italy to join in (sorry for the thing with the map...); asked the Polish (though if they can be funny that will shake the world); and said to comedians in the U.S. that European comedians will be joining them in mocking Trump until people can't laugh any more (I think it was that - I've now watched all the other videos in swift succession & my brother was vacuuming: you know what it's like when you're half-watching something, you'd struggle to say EXACTLY what someone said verbatim, no?)

ZebraOwl · 03/02/2017 22:39

Oh! And they have a Twitter account! They're @ itsgreateu - probably not much of a surprise handle...

FlyMeToTheMoonLiterally · 03/02/2017 22:44

cozie, I can't bear to think about it, all I can think about right now is that the people will resist and the Republicans will find the courage to impeach him.

I can't bear to think about the damage he will have done in the meantime, I hope the protests we go to mean that his impeachment will happen sooner rather than later, its what I'm holding onto

amispartacus · 03/02/2017 22:44

Humour and satire can be a very good way to get to Trump and to make key points. Spitting Image would be having a field day right now.

Will Scotland do one?
